Lovely CL and a warm welcome

This CL has good-sized pitches and open views, which is a big plus for us. There was some traffic noise from the road but it wasn't intrusive. The site has a shower room with a toilet and this was clean and heated which was very much appreciated, there is an honesty box for 40p for a shower. The pitches are sloped and in our motorhome we had to use levelling blocks on our pitch. We received a warm welcome when we arrived. It was a clear night and we were able to spot lots of stars in the dark.

Excellent CL!

Just spent an enjoyable 3 nights at this CL - good facilities. Owners are very friendly and welcoming, as also are the sheep in the adjacent field! Not sure what other reviewers' issue is about the low amperage of EHU - owner tells me they're 10A each (better than some French sites) so shouldn't be any problem running fridge and a proper low wattage caravanning kettle, TV etc. We visited Biddulph Grange Gardens (one of our favourite NT places) and Little Moreton Hall during our brief stay and we would recommend these 2 places as being worth a visit, esp for NT members ('free' admission) We will certainly return to this site.

Superb Site

Arriving at this site is easy.  Access is good even for large twin axles.   There are no single track roads to get to the site (other than the driveway!).  The owners are super friendly and nothing is too much trouble.   The pitches are spacious and on hardstanding.  The site is on a slight slope so levelling blocks are required.   All pitches have dedicated waste/water.   As others have mentioned the ampage of the EHU is low, so be prepared to run your fridge on gas.   There is a shower/wc/washer on site and a small charge is made for each (well not the wc) via honesty box.  The shower is 40p.    Fresh eggs from the free range hens are available if desired. If you have a dog ask the owners and they will tell you where you can walk it.  Usually in one of their fields livestock permitting. The site is fairly close to the main road so expect some road noise. For a great day out visit tittesworth reservoir.  There are some nice walks around the resevouir ( 4.5miles all the way round, or a 1.5mile short walk), there is a cafe there and dogs are welcome on leads.  A short walk (over the bridge left as you exit the reservoir) is Meerbrook where the Lazy trout pub can be found.   It is dog friendly (inside and out) and the food is great, although it can get busy at peak periods. Ashborne just down the road is a nice market town with several dog friendly cafes/pubs.

Weekend Stay 25th Feb to to 1st March

We agree with all that has been said, we spent 5 nights here. From making the booked to arriving & receiving a lovely welcome. Martin explained that it early days, for us the site was ideal. Plenty of places to visit & plenty to do. We wish Martin & Sally success for the future and we will be back.

A super site.

We originally chose this site for its position - relatively close to Leek - plus it was open throughout the winter - we arrived on 23 December 2015. The new owners made us very welcome, despite their only having moved in one week before our arrival. Although the weather was beyond foul at times (the caravan moved on its jacks one night due to a gale!), the site remained useable, even though there was horrendous rainfall for several days, which was causing driving difficulty elsewhere. We would thoroughly recommend this CL to any users - it was practical when we were there and the new owners intend to improve the site further. We'll be back!

lovely site

A lovely site with your own serviced pitch, great views surrounded by fields. Clean wetroom with plentiful hot water and a good shower. A very friendly owner with a relaxed attitude, wanting you to have the best stay possible. As its the Staffordshire rock beneath, you'll need decent pegs to hold down awnings on the hardstanding pitches. Can recommend the Indian at end of the road, the pub in Onecote and the Red Lion pub at Waterfall. Ask owner for dog walking directions, can use adjacent fields if no livestock there. Lovely fresh eggs and some books (novels) to swop. A little road noise but will come here again.

Gem of a site

Was greeted on arrival by the extremely friendly owner  she showed us to our pitch. Gravel pitch with water and waste plus electric up ( spoilt us really) although we were unable to run our fridge freezer due to the low ampage but we just ran it on gas instead. Wet room and toilet on site if needed but we used our own facilities in the caravan. . Short drive into the quaint town of Leek with antique  market.  lovely indian restaurant / takeaway at  the bottom of the road which we sampled and the portions plentiful and extremely tasty.  Would definitely visit again 10 out of 10 for this site

Lovely little site

Arrived around 5pm and was greeted by the owner who directed us to our pitch. Nice gravel hardstanding and short grass around the pitches and also (yes we were spoilt here) water point and waste on each pitch. Site had a toilet and shower facility which was a wetroom which was cleaned everyday. Free range eggs were available too. Only 10 minutes drive into the lovely little town of Leek. My only little criticism was the electricity ampage wasn't enough to run our fridge in the caravan but we just ran the fridge on gas instead so it didn't affect us in anyway. It's a lovely little site with beautiful views 10/10 for Goats Fell Farm!
