Another excellent stay

We have used this site before and will absolutely use it again. I would find it very hard to add anything that hasn’t already be said. Only a very small amount of road noise can be heard during the day but it’s not intrusive. Martin and Sally are very friendly and helpful and happy to chat. Serviced pitches are a bonus.

A warm welcome to a fab CL!

Just spent 10 nights on this brilliant CL which is perfectly located for both the Peak District and the beautiful Staffordshire countryside to the west, which is a real hidden treasure. The access is easy, the pitches generous sizes and each fully serviced. Martin and Sally are genuinely lovely people who work incredibly hard to keep everywhere looking beautiful. There is some road noise but it certainly wouldn’t stop us from returning. Highly recommended!

Great gem of a CL, easy access, extremely well kept field and gardens, the grass is like velvet, Seriously I had lawn envy. Each pitch with its own grey waste disposal, water and EHU Point, for your convenience, slightly sloping but levelling blocks provided if you don’t carry them. The owner is very welcoming and will happily stop and chat with you, they really do appreciate your business, although close to an A & B road not much road noise can be heard, The evening it dies off completely. Best pitches for sun are the three on the left hand side, shaded on the right late afternoon due to high hedge. The night sky is inky black, if you love a star gaze. But seriously this is a really charming CL with great views and lots to do and see locally, don’t miss national trust site Llam Dovedale. If you love walking this is a great place to visit.

Excellent site.

Thoroughly enjoyed our first stay at a CL site. Goatfell Farm is a treasure. Fully serviced is thumbs up. Martin and Sally are so very helpful and informative & work hard to maintain this lovely neat and tidy site. Sanitising stations for current situation. Plenty of places to visit as well as super countryside. Good for walking, gentle walking in my case! Easy to access from road. Our vodafone reception great. We will certainly return if you haven't taken all the slots!!

Tranquil gem. 5 night August 2019

A relaxing 5 night stay at this very well kept CL on the Derbyshire Staffordshire border, just off the main Leek to Ashbourne road. The site has hard standing pitches and for your convenience has freshwater electricity and gray water point on each pitch. Attached to the owners property there is a shower and toilet ( shower 50p honestly box) also an information room with an assortment of local attractions. The site is sheltered and has attractive views of the surrounding hills, also has well maintained flower beds attracting lots of wildlife . Definitely highly recommended this site. Thank you Sally for your warm welcome.... Linda enjoyed the cut flower you gave her.

Great site!

Just had a 2 night stay on this wonderful cl. Ideally placed for Ashbourne and Leek and close to the Staffordshire Moorlands and the Peak District. Super facilities with each pitch having its own water and grey waste point. Onsite shower room which was very clean and tidy. Will definitely come back soon. Well done Martin and Sally for maintaining such a lovely site.

Goatfell Farm - A real gem!

We have stayed on many CLs and Goatfell Farm is up there with the best of them! Sally and Martin are excellent hosts, always happy to chat, but not obtrusive. Access is very easy, from the Leek to Ashbourne road, turn off at the B5053 and it's about 400 yards along on the right. Large HS pitches, each with EHU and water - if you like late afternoon/evening sun choose one of the pitches on the left hand side. The wet room/shower is a welcome bonus (50p in honesty box) if, like us, you only have a small van and don't use the on board shower. Fabulous views from the site and many excellent walks within a very short drive, including Rudyard and Tittesworth Reservoirs, just the other side of Leek, The Roches for a harder challenge and the area around Ilam. Leek has a good variety of shops, supermarkets and garages - you really don't need to go much further afield. This was a very enjoyable 5 night stay chosen as a base for a nearby charity event and, since it's an annual one we'll very likely be back again next year (if they're not fully booked!)

FANTASTIC SITE

Just returned from a 2 night stay. We Had a lovely time. The site is VERY well maintained. Really lovely owners. All pitches are serviced and hardcore and are well cared for. There is a dog walking field. Shower and loo are great and the 50p honesty box is a great idea. We bought a dozen fresh eggs from Martin and Sally which were lovely. The gardens are beautiful. Good location. We drove to Alstonefield and did a lovely walk. Ashbourne, the manifold track, Hartington etc are all close by. Will definitely be returning 😀

What more do you want

Stayed here for a week and thoroughly enjoyed it. The welcome was very warm, friendly and genuine. The site is close to the main road and a small amount of road noise is just audible but certainly not intrusive or annoying. The site is very well looked after with new flower beds an ongoing job. The grass is kept short with clippings picked up. There is a small fenced of area for games etc. All pitches are flattish and super pitches. The shower and toilet is actually a wet room and 50p honesty bucket for the shower, well worth it. It would be hard to want more or better. We will definitely return.
