Always Returning

You could not ask for a better CL. Always a warm welcome from Steve and Gill and for that matter all at the local pub (6 or 7 real ales on tap and excellent food) together with all those folks at the Parish Churches in the area. Site doggy friendly (for well behaved dogs); Pub Doggy friendly (Ebrington Arms in Kirkby). Some good walking especially along the old railway line trail from Woodhall to Horncastle and down the Canalised River Bain to the pub for lunch. This is a working farm, but Steve always has the time to have a friendly chat and banter. Our dog loves to see his two friends Jack and Tom. Toilet with hot and cold water always immaculately kept, as is the grass cutting on the very level site, which is just behind the farmhouse. Should really not be recommending this site, as it might get too full and we might not get in when we phone! Well done Steve and Gill and see you soon again.

Happy Caravanners

We booked on this site for a 4 night stay but rang the owner the day before we were due to arrive to see if we could come a day early as the Met Office had predicted high gusty winds for the day we were due to travel. As he was not full, Steve was happy to accommodate our request at short notice. This site is really peaceful (except for the occasional aeroplane flying over). The site is behind the farmhouse and is flat and really well kept. There is a spotless toilet on site with H&C water, towel and loo paper provided. It is close to Woodhall Spa and Horncastle and about 45 minutes from Mablethorpe. The National Trust property at Tattershall castle and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight are only a short distance away. We found the owners helpful and happy to tell us where the best places to eat were located. We very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely visit again.

peaceful hideaway

given that we booked this in desperation, as our usual site was fully booked for the weekend we wanted, we couldn't have been more pleased. we have just booked again for an impromptue weekend. It was so peaceful and the pitch was the most perfectly level one we have every had! the grass was worthy of a bowling green. We were made very welcome and were even shown where we might excercise our dogs off lead, which on a farm with sheep is no mean feat. seeing the two lancasters fly low overhead was a bonus.

Good site

This was our second visit to this site and it is one of the friendliest site around. Met some very nice caravanners, who return on a regular basis. We will be back again

PERFECT CL

Just completed our 4th stay at Glebe Farm. cant think of how Steve and Gill could improve it. Welcome from Steve, he always opens the gates for you, was excellent, and a friendly chat with Gill is always available. The flat site drains very well and we always feel confident of getting off in very wet weather; a bone of contention for us front wheel owners. Toilet is always clean and is such a welcome if you dont want to use your van's; nice to have a shower though which could be perhaps something for the future Steve. We will be back.

Edge of the Wolds

A very tidy and peaceful site. The best welcome we have ever had at a CL site. The owner (who was in the middle of the lambing season) left his supper to come out and welcome us. We loved the peace and quiet and you can walk your dog/s on the farmers land as long as you keep them on the lead as this is a working sheep farm. We had to go off-site with 'Piglet' our motorhome so decided to visit Bolingbroke castle, Spilsby, Bluestone Heath Road viewing site and Horncastle which were all very beautiful. The roads were amazingly quiet and a joy to drive (we did visit in March though). The only down side I can see for some would be access to local amenities, such as shops etc. We like to walk and have two dogs who love to walk too, so walking into Woodhall Spa was not an issue for us. If, like us, you like to pull on site and leave your motorhome in position and walk to the local shop then be prepared for a 3 mile hike at least. There is some noise from aircraft that operate out of Coningsby but they are not low-level and low in frequency, but if you like aircraft then you might be lucky enough to see the Red Arrows or some Typhoons flying about. We saw both and once we saw a flight of 4 Typhoons (Eurofighters) fly over on their way home. If you like walking then you can easily walk to either Woodhall Spa or Horncastle via the Viking Way which you can access without having to walk along any major roads. On one occasion we walked from the site into Woodhall Spa to get some supplies. Walked along the Viking Way to an old railway bridge where the road crosses the Viking Way. Turned right off the Viking Way and followed the road into Roughton. Then turned right again along Moor Lane and back to the site. We estimated that we had walked about 9 miles and our hounds can attest to the fact as they spent the whole night laying on their backs with their legs in the air.
