Off the Beaten Track

The site is down a long, narrow single track with passing places. The pitches have EHU and are relatively flat. Water is by the entrance. The railway line to Holyhead runs by the site and the trains run from quite early in the morning to late evening. The view from the site is across files and on a clear day, to the mountains of Snowdonia. It was very quiet when we stayed, so our dog had free run of the field, which he loved. The walk to the Oyster Catcher pub and the beach is about 30 minutes across fields, through a farmyard and along the road and definitely worth a visit. I imagine that the path can get quite muddy when there has been rain, so take walking boots. It’s a further 20 minutes into Rhosneigr itself, which has a few cafes, a couple of shops and restaurants. Also worth a visit. There were two big negatives for me. 1. There was absolutely no phone signal or 4G connection on the site. (I am with EE)I know it’s nice to get away and switch off but sometimes, it is essential to be able to maintain contact with home. 2. The Anglesey Circuit racetrack is just across the fields from the site. The noise from the cars/bikes racing round the track, started before 8am on Sunday morning and went on most of the day. The noise actually woke me up and really shattered the peace and tranquility of the site. The owner was very friendly and welcoming and cut the grass just before we chose our pitch.
