Excellent site, wonderful views

We loved this site, fantastic view over loch Lomond islands situated close enough to Balmaha to walk down and catch the ferry to Luss or smaller mail boat or ferry to the nearest island. Site owner was very accommodating and we both wished we could have spent longer than the 5 nights we spent here. There are miles of scenic drives nearby, or walks/bike tracks for those more energetic than us.

Stunning location overlooking the loch

Agree with other reviews that this is a beautiful place to stop and recharge the batteries. You can access the Nature Reserve of the eastern side of the loch directly from the farm - about a 10 minute stroll down from the farm. Lovely and peaceful down by the loch, very few people around and plenty of bird and wildfowl activity.

On the quiet side of the Loch

This is a basic but handy site on the quieter side of Loch lomond.  You can walk to Balmaha on the lochside in abour 1/2 hour - the village is very popular and there is a National park visitor centre and a small shop and pub, well used by walkers on the west Highland way. A nice trip is to take the tiny ferry from the shore to the nearby island, there are trails among the woods, with  possible sightings of deer and Ospreys.  There is also a short walk by the visitor centre into the woods and by the loch side. The site is mainly grass but there are a couple of hardstandings for heavier vehices like us!

Loch Lomond View

Lovely peaceful quiet and clean site. Terrific surrounding views. Friendly farm.  No toilet facilities, but running water and waste bins on site. Own toilet required. Balmaha (General store, public bar/restaurant)25 mins walk (narrow pavement, torch required if walking at night as no street lighting.) Local bus service also but need to check times. Stayed 29/12/15 and 30/12/15

Fabulous views!!!

We were delighted with this sight which sits on the quiet side of Loch Lomond - long walks along the shoreline are only 5 minutes away - the dogs loved it and were hardly out of the water - we lost a few tennisballs though!  Noticed further down towards the Loch a number of caravan sites - we were glad we had our quiet CL to return to - especially since the sites further down require negotiating a few tight turns on the road.  Staying at this CL avoided that stress and gave us the best views of all.  Quiet, friendly and highly recommended.  Thank you for a delightful break!

Lovely place

We were travelling with friends and so we arrived together. When we went to say we'd arrived we were greeted with a friendly 'help yourself'. It's very quiet, the only noise comes from the working farm, and the views, either of Conich Hill or the Loch, are lovely. There are plenty of walks in the area and it's not far to drive to see other places. It's an easy walk to Balmaha where there is an information centre. The Clachan Arms in Drymen is dog friendly.

Excellent Site.

Likewise thought the site was excellent with great views over the Loch. Plenty to do and see in the area and the friendly owners have just put in 2 hard standing pitches. It is very popular so book well in advance.

A little gem

As everyone else has reviewed this is a great little site owned by a very nice farmer. If I go this way again it will be the first site I try to book. The only problem is that it is so good it will now be fully booked!

Awesome Views

If it's peace, tranquility and views you are looking for then this CL will tick all the boxes. Easy access both to the site and local attractions. Do the Mail boat trip from the village to Inchmurrin Island. Well worth the money and a nice meal and beer available at the Island stop.

Fantastic location

Superb little CL in a great locations with views overlooking the loch, very peaceful with plenty of space, the was one caravan and us in the motorhome, it was very quite and peaceful, its a short wall into Balmaha to the superb Oak Tree pub with great food, there is also a good walk up conic hill which is part of the highland way, would definitely stay here again.
