Gem of a CL

Stayed for two nights in April 2016, Very friendly welcome from Mrs Griffiths. A very well presented and maintained site the amenities were always clean and well maintained. Great views and a great base to explore the local area easy access to both sides of the estuary. wish we could have stayed longer so relaxing we will defiantly return for another visit.

Great C.L.

Just stayed on this C L for 10 nights,Aug/Sept 2015. What a wonderful place. The owners are lovely friendly people. The field is very spacious. We pitched at the top of the field. Great Views. The toilets and shower were always clean. I will be going back to this site again. Thank You to Mr & Mrs Griffiths. Regards John & Jeannette.

More Than A Handy Stopover

What a lovely welcome from Mrs Griffiths as already said a really homely well loked after site. We stayed for a one night stopover on our way to New Quay and Pembrokeshire, liked it so much we returned for 5 nights on the way back. Great site, very easy access being adjacent to A 487, I thought it might be noisy but pleased to say found no problem from road noise. Didn't realise there was so much to see and do in this lovely area scenery, walking, and good beaches to relax. We saw the three young Osprey at the Dyfi Osprey Project just before they left their nest and the Red Kite feeding station at Nant-yr-Arian visitors centre is a must. feeding time daily at 3pm summer 2pm in winter, a great spectacle. 5 days not nearly long enough we will certainly be back. Mrs Griffiths Thanks again for the lovely fresh baked scones, looking forward to those Welsh cakes next time.

The Homely CL site

We arrived on the site having called at the Dyfi Osprey Project which was only 2 miles up the road, we were met by Mrs Griffiths who could not do enough for us. When she knew we were into photography, she made sure we were aware that a woodpecker visited the bird feeders and even advised us of the time. She also made sure that the feeders were full to attract the birds. The site is very easy to find, very convenient for accessing the local area. Although only there for two nights you received the same care and attention as if you where there for a week or longer. The site is very well maintained, toilets and showers are spotless. Its an ideal site for visiting Ynys Hir RSPB nature reserve. On our return from her I asked Mrs Griffiths if I could set my camera up to capture the birds, not only did she agree, she even topped up the feeders and insisted I had a lend of one of her garden chairs to sit on. We would certainly recommend this site and will defiantly be making a revisit.

Handy Stopover

Adjacent to A487 and just right for a nights stopover, good shower along with the mains hook-up optional make this CL excellent value. I pitched up in camping field which is a bit further from the road and quieter. Not my first visit & will not be the last

The perfect CL

We agree with the twotwitchers review, and we went for the same reason. The RSPB reserve is wonderful, so many different habitats. Mr and Mrs Griffiths are really helpful and also very interesting to talk to. The maintenance of the site and the facilities are exemplary and the site large and the power points well spaced. We have booked another five days in August when we plan to visit Ynys Hir again but also do some walking in the hills immediately accessible from the site. The only drawback for motorhomers like us who don't like to drive about in it much is that there is no shop nearby, but we were fairly well stocked so it was not a problem for us.

Very handy for Ynys Hir bird reserve

We had a very warm welcome from Mr and Mrs Griffiths when we stayed here for 3 nights. The slightly rolling field is fairly close to the road but the traffic isn't too noisy, our main reason for staying here was to visit the nearby RSPB Ynys Hir reserve. It's an easy 20 minutes walk along a lane or you can drive a car to the car park by the visitor centre - this is quite small and the lane is narrow so don't take a large motorhome! BBC Springwatch were just setting up as we visited, which was exciting. The site has a couple of toilets and a simple shower.which is a bonus - and we were very happy to see a woodpecker visit our feeder!
