What a find!
Paul and Mel, the owners, have only had the C.L. open for two years. Looking at the field when we arrived it was immaculate. Grass freshly mown and collected.
Paul was on hand to welcome us and obliged by opening the gate.
Nothing was too much trouble for these two. They were a mine of information about the locale, and further afield and so helpful.
The field for the CL is all grass, firm and level. It forms part of some 30 odd acres they have with easy access to walking routes.
The information hut is very well stocked and is of superb build.
There are two taps for fresh water at either end of the field (both within very easy walking distance from your unit whichever one you choose).
At the house end of the field is a very well constructed toilet emptying facility with rinsing water laid on.
The site makes a superb base for touring this part of Kent with many attractions not too far away.
We stayed for a week and wish we could have stayed for longer.
Paul and Mel are lovely people. I challenge anyone staying with them to think otherwise.
It goes without saying, "We will be back".
Lovely
I agree with all previous comments. Lovely rural site, clean and neat. Lovely views.Lovely dog walk. Would recommend.
Great site.
Excellent CL, very clean and tidy, bins for recycling grass kept short and cuttings collected in mower. Much local information in hut with bus timetables etc. Great for visiting Tenterden and Rye. We will return here it was so nice.Â

five star CL
Had a lovely week here at this fabulous CL. Lovely wide and flat pitches. Mel & Paul made us so welcome and gave us loads of information. The information hut on the site is one of the best we have seen just full of information. We loved watching Mel's horse Buddy he is a great character. Beautiful setting and easy access to walks from the site. We visited Sissinghurst and Bodium Castle both NT, lovely walk from Rye harbour to Winchelsea, we did it in two sections once from Rye (free parking) and the next day from Winchelsea along the sea wall. Tenderden is a lovely town with a Waitrose in the centre. Independent shops and a lovely market on Friday.
We still have lots of places to visit on our return next year. Highly recommended CL it gets 5 stars from us.
Lovely site
Paul and Mel were very friendly, giving us a warm welcome. They gave us information on local walks etc and the summer house had all sorts of information too. Lovely clean and very well maintained site. We will definitely use this site again. Just hoping they do get to put in some winter pitches so we could use it all year round!

A wonderful Cl and Wonderful owners
We have recently returned from our first 12 night stay at this lovely CL and there is very little I can say that hasn't already been said in previous reviews, all of which I thoroughly agree with, except to add my comments about the owners. On the first evening we were greeted by Mel and Paul with lots of information ,a map of local footpaths and walks and a very enthusiastic welcome for myself and my wife. I happened to mention to Paul that I had an empty gas cylinder and that I liked to get the Calor 6kg light. He instantly said to leave it with him and he would ring around and find out where I could get it. A couple of days later during a period of 48 hours of TORRENTIAL rain, Paul came down the field, soaking wet and said that he was going out and if I would give him my empty cylinder he would take it and get it exchanged for me. This in itself was impressive but, at the time, we were in a panic, as we had water pouring into the offside of our Caravan. Paul came in and helped to assess the situation then went back to the house. Within 15 minutes he was back, again in the pouring rain, with a list of local Lunar dealers, a step ladder and a roll of Gaffer tape. He would not leave us until we were satisfied that we had done all we could to ease the flow. He then went off and later in the day, returned with our gas to check how we were doing. In the meantime the rain had eased , I was able to effect a temporary solution and got repairs done on our way home. With the help of beautiful sunshine and the constant care and attention of Paul and Mel our stay was unspoiled and we enjoyed this lovely area. We could not thank them enough for their help and Pauls' reply was, "We just want everyone to be happy" !!!. This will certainly be our candidate for CL OF THE YEAR, not just for the help but for this gem of a CL. Many thanks Paul and Mel , we will be back !
An amazing CL
This was our first visit to this site, and won't be our last. As all the other reviewers have said it's a wonderful place, tranquil and with plenty of space. There are lots of footpaths from the site, and plenty of places of interest within a short drive, including Rye, which has a fantastic old town to explore. Mel and Paul have gone to a lot of trouble to create a wonderful CL and they deserve to be very successful.
Fantastic
We have just spent 10 days here and what a fab CL we have discovered. Mel and Paul are so lovely and what a beautiful CL they have provided. The information room is probably the best that we have seen on a CL. Maintained to a high standard. This is one of the best CL's that we have been on and will certainly return. Lots of interesting places to visit and walks around the area. Loved watching Buddy (Mels horse) from our van. We were also lucky to see Paul at work before we left this morning in the Forge shoeing a horse.
Thanks Mel and Paul for such a wonderful site.
Perfick
This site is as Pa Larkin would have said 'Perfick'. Everything from the friendliness of the welcome to the peace & tranquillity, space and cleanliness.
The site is large for a CL with lots of space between pitches which all look out onto beautiful countryside. Paul and Mel make a point of coming over to every new arrival to introduce themselves and give out lots of useful information on the area. They also came over to say goodbye the evening before we left which was a nice touch. Paul and Mel are active caravanners and this certainly helps when setting up a CL as you try to include features that you would like to have in sites you visit as customers, it has worked. This was our first stay in Kent but we will certainly be back and back at forge meadow as well. Well done to Paul and Mel for creating a little gem of a site.
