Tranquil, tucked away with views of the local wildlife

Access to the site is easy - we have an estate car towing a single axle caravan and it's very straightforward to drive through the farm to the tucked away site which is well away from any roads or noise from the farm animals. The owner, Mr Penny is a mine of information and extremely helpful. The facilities are wonderfully straightforward - there's a drinking water tap in the field and a CDP to the side of the track between the site and the farm yard. The site itself beautiful - it is lined by flora on three sides and one long side is open for views over the adjoining paddock where the local wildlife puts on a lovely show - we've seen plenty of rabbits, all sorts of birds, fox and deer. The hedges change according to the time of year - our last visit mid-May 2014 saw a magnificent display of the rhododendron in flower. A short walk through the woods beyond the site takes you to the back of the farm onto a quiet dead-end road which has a very pleasant pub just a few yards' walk. If you want peace and quiet surrounded by nature, yet easy access to shops in Holbury, visits further into the New Forest, or to take the ferry to Southampton, this is the site for you. We always look forward to returning!
