Well kept site with all serviced pitches

We stayed here so we could visit family close by who we hadn’t seen in 8 months. Site is very well maintained by the owners who are very welcoming. There is noise from the motorway but not so much that it disturbs your night’s sleep! Would I stay again, yes I surely would.

Excellent site

Had a few nights on the site just over a week ago and have already booked two more visits. Very clean and level site with easy access. Each pitch has it's own water supply and waste drainage so you don't need to use a waste container. Pipes are provided for your waste water to drain directly into a drain. Very friendly welcome by the owner Stella, who couldn't have been more helpful. There is a slight noise from the motorway as mentioned by other reviewers but nothing that caused us any inconvenience at all. It soon blends into the background.

A piece of country close to the city

Directions to the site are clear, and easy to follow. The website has a series of photographs which identify major points along the route. Access is easy for my 7.5m van. The site is protected by a set of gates, which, if closed are opened by using a mobile phone number provided after you have booked.the site itself is adjacent to the farm house and vegetable garden and is a large mown grass area bordered by hard standing pitches, each with its own supply of electricity and water and also they each have a drain available. The site is very well kept and the manager was very welcoming on our arrival. There is a convenient woodland walk accessible and the local village has shops, pub/restaurant (which we didn't visit). We explored parts of Liverpool, Southport and Formby during our stay - very easily accessible by car.

Great Site, easy access

We've been a regular since this site opened. Agree, the only downside is the slight noise from the motorway, but this is an example of what a CL should be and the cost is so reasonable. Access to the site is wonderful, we have a 40ft American motorhome and a car behind us and can easily access the site from the main road. John keeps the branches cut so that at 12ft 3inches, tall, we don't rub the roof!! So well maintained, regular grass cutting, bins emptied every day.

One of the best sites we have stayed on

This is an excellent site in so many ways. The arrival instructions are really clear and the entry to the site through a mobile phone accessed gate is a great idea. The pitches are nicely spaced, flat and having water and waste on all sites is great. The owners have even provided waste pipes to connect to the caravan. The site is ideally situated for visiting Liverpool, which is easy to get to. We spent a day sightseeing, headed back to the site to freshen up and then headed back to the City for the evening - its that easy and accessible. Others have mentioned the road noise - on the Friday evening it was noticeable if outside the van, however it was rush hour so should be expected. It does quieten down though and the rest of the weekend was quiet and unobtrusive - so don't be put off. Overall a lovely farm location with great facilities on site and nearby.

Whitsun Bank holiday stay

An excellent CL with 4 hardstanding & 1 grass pitch all fully serviced. Site very private in a picturesque setting, which is kept very neat & tidy with elsan point & bins. Everything for a great self-contained break. Electric gated entrance which operates by phone, preset & sent by owner, so very secure! Close to motorway, So you do get some traffic noise daytime, this is quieter at night. Pitches level and flat. One of the best we've stayed on. Stella & hubby v.friendly! Site is 6 miles from Liverpool centre. The proprietor Stella (a lovely lady), will greet you on arrival with a detailed leaflet of the area including travel options. It is possible to get a bus at the end of the lane which takes you to Huyton or Page Miss, where you can get a connecting bus into Liverpool. We travelled by car & parked at Mount Pleasant, multi story car park. £4 for over 3hrs. Free disabled parking on level 5 ( All day). Main supermarkets Aldi, Asda, Tesco, all within 3/4 miles. Smaller shops nearerby in village 1/2 miles. Food & meals at Darby Arms pub (1/2mile up road), we're excellent, extensive menu & good price. (Recently changed hands-Stella informed us). Stella also gives you a list of different places to eat within a few miles. We were a party of 4 adults, with 2 units. We used the site as a base to explore Liverpool & it's many wonderful attractions inc, the ferry across the Mersey, Beetles childhood homes ( pre-booked through the National Trust), Liverpool Museum (free), Albert Dock, site seeing around town i.e cavern club, Liver building, fab four statues, Villa, etc. Great place, city & people! Thank you Stella! We will be back. X

Lovely site, great owners!

We stayed in April and used the site as a base for visiting the sights of Liverpool and surrounding area. It was an ideal choice for access to road links, and the train into Liverpool. The site is very well laid out with excellent serviced pitches and a great recycling / waste area, very well thought out and beautifully maintained. The owners couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. The proximity to the motorway is an advantage as you can get everywhere quickly, and the road noise may seem a bit loud on arrival but then you hardly notice it. There's lots of wildlife - pheasants, we had a squirrel on our bird feeder as well as blue, great and coal tits, and lots more. Would we stay again? Like a shot! Not just for a week, but as a stop-over on a journey north - the location is ideal! We visited the newly opened Liver Building (wonderful), took the Mersey explorer and visited the U Boat (really interesting commentary on the boat and the U Boat was amazing), the Anderton Boat Lift ( a masterpiece of engineering), Liverpool Town Hall (beautiful), the Anglican Cathedral (what views!!), Speke Hall and the Beatles Houses, The Hardmans House and loads more. We were there for a week and only scraped the surface of things to do - good reason for a return visit! The weather was amazing, so all in all we had a great time. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Very well positioned for visits to Liverpool centre

We stayed over new year 2018/19, although there is slight traffic noise from the motorway its only the local motorway and the trees shelter it. It did not bother us at all. We originally come from north Liverpool and return regularly to visit the grandchildren , family and friends. So we know how beautiful the city is and still visit it on occasions, there is the Albert dock, pier head go to the top of the Anglican cathedral Tower and see all of Liverpool . The battle of the Atlantic headquarters is in town also a German U boat next to the Seacombe ferry landing stage. The Beatles story, the three Liver Birds, two on the Liver building and one behind Georges Dock gates which is in land of The Liver Building and rarely ever noticed, so one to spot. The CL site is spotless, with full service pitches, chemical disposal point and recycling. We only realised it was open last summer and this was our first stay. IT WILL NOT be our last. they even supply a number for dog sitting, very nice.

One of the best CLs we have stayed on!

We stayed 2 nights last week at the end of a 6 night tour round Bury, Wirral and Liverpool. We chose this CL due to the other excellent reviews, and were certainly not disappointed! This is a very well thought out and laid out, level site. Having your own electric, fresh water and grey waste disposal is a nice luxury! The Toilet Disposal is well located and the drive over point is also a real bonus on a CL. Nice welcome from Sarah, with a comprehensive information leaflet, which was helpful on our day trip into Liverpool. The bus stop is just a few minutes walk and really easy to get into the city centre, even with 2 buses. The road noise from the M57 is really not a problem as the screen of trees dampens it down.No hesitation in booking again when we visit the area.
