A picturesque place in the country
A friendly warm welcome by the owners Joan and John with the offer of a cuppa. The deer don't fail to make you go ah! a nice feeling when they let you hand feed them. A big toilet room available, Good base for walks, Dog love it here as they have the freedom to run on site as long as the others don't mind. Train station a few minutes down the road for a trip to Weymouth. And also Frampton arms pub/restaurant opposite the station .
Peaceful?
A friendly warm welcome by the owners, with the offer of a cuppa. The deer don't fail to make you go ah! a nice feeling when they let you hand feed them. The site is sloping, but plenty of levelling blocks are supplied, big toilet room. Good base for walks, NT properties and towns. Not sure how other reviewers came about their peace and tranquil marks? main road noise is constant til dark, and tractors start going by every morning at about 6am! Plus right next to the Caravan Club site entrance road with more traffic noise. Speaking to others on site found the same. No mobile phone signal for those interested.
Here again
We visit this CL often love it here, also enjoy the hospitality of Joan and John. The dog cant wait to get out of the car he knows he'll get a bicuit, seeing the deer and feeding them is another pleasure. And there's no need for hours in the car travelling to get go resorts, and places of interest. we will be back again :-)

A great little site
I have visited this CL a few times. It has now improved greatly as the quarry no longer appears to be working. It was a bit annoying but only worked 9 - 5. A welcome cup of tea or coffee is a nice touch when you arrive and you feel looked after until the owners wave you goodbye. The site is in an green field which attracts local deer which my grandchildren found wonderful. The site is near some lovely Dorset heath and is close to weymouth and Swanage. A great place to stay.

Lovely ......
The offer of a cuppa on arrival, even though it was late on a cold Friday evening, down to the semi tame herd of of deer, a lovely spot to stay, easy acces to the site and surrounding area, yes a little damp underfoot but what do you expect if staying on a CL in February! John and Joan are delightful, warm and welcoming owners, the site is well maintained, and the pub down the road is lovely too (short walk, with footpath, but not an open all day pub). We will definitely return here for another quick weekend break.

A Wonderful Few Days
It is the first time ever that on arriving at a camp site that we were asked if we would like a cup of tea / coffee before we settle down in our camper. How very kind. John and Joan are a wonderful couple, and very thoughtful. We only had time to stay for 2 nights but would have loved to have stayed longer.
We were informed of the quarry work taking place near by, but it didn't affect us in any way.
The location was perfect for us and having deer visit us during our stay was an added bonus.
Thank you John and Joan

Pleasant CL within Dorset's heartlands
We stayed at this CL for two nights at the end of May 2014. First, access is very straightforward. Going south on B3390, go over the Moreton level crossing then, in about 400m, the site entrance is the first turning left. As you turn in, the entrance gate to the CL is directly ahead. The main access is in fact shared with the Crossways CC site.
The Cl is a grassy field with clumps of trees, all very well maintained. It can be soggy in heavy rain. A little way from the entrance gate, the site has a gentle slope to north and east. The multi point hook up posts are near the southern boundary. The toilet and waste disposal facilities are very civilised. Mr Wallman gave us a handsome welcome and check in.
A great moment was experienced when the site was visited by 3 deer. As noted in the Club handbook in connection with the Crossways site, there is a working quarry nearby which generates some noise, although the nearby main railway is not intrusive. The site is well placed for visiting the Dorset Coast and the many inland places of interest.

BEST WELCOME EVER
Our first time on this very convenient CL. The owner kindly brought us out a cuppa' when we arrived. Very welcoming. Route in is no problem with easy access off the busy, and sometimes noisy, fast main road adjacent. Turn in to the Crossways Site and then straight ahead. Slight slope, small puddles after rain. Plenty of room for 5 units. Loo, hot water. Plenty of amps for light usage. Easy to book on 'phone. Bit expensive at £15. No view as big trees all round. We will return. Lots to do in the area.
relaxing weekend
Just spent a weekend at Joan and Johns c.l. What a lovely friendly couple. Made to feel very welcome and both very helpful on places to visit and where to walk our dog. Site was very wet but John managed to find us a good pitch to park motorhome on. The highlight of the weekend was the seventeen deer about five metres from the van. The weather could have been a lot better but sometimes you just have to get away. Railway station is only a five minute walk away with trains to Weymouth etc. We will be returning a.s.a.p.
