Peace and quiet

This site is one of the best we have been to and all other reviews are not wrong. Great for dog owners as there is a large fenced field adjacent to site , a village playing field next to site for the children , and well spaced out pitches . Shower / Toilet block very good . The owners told me they are constantly trying to landscape the site and surrounding garden / fields . The only issue I had was the the driveway into site and hard standings consisted of crushed hardcore that included pieces of glass and pottery which could be a safety issue . If this was sorted out I would say site was perfect .

Can't fault this one

Wow, this is one of the best CLs we have visited, and as with previous reviews, we wish we'd had more than 2 nights here. Beautiful, quiet location with lots of space between pitches and the shower/loo facilities were first class! Good value for money.Well done and thank you Mr and Mrs Dougall, you've got it just right. Will definitely revisit.

Shhh, don't tell everyone!

Wonderful site with excellent facilities. Very peaceful. Neill the owner was very pleasant to deal with. Too much to do locally so we will be forced to return - didn't even have time to visit both pubs within walking distance from the site! A really relaxing two night stay.

Great Site outstanding Location

Fishers Field is a gem, run by Mr & Mrs Dougal who are very helpful and friendly. So if you love wildlife, enjoy the quite countryside, beaches, little villages then this location has it all. The site is easy to find its flat and has a great clean well managed Shower and Toilet block. Two public houses in walking distance 5mins and 10mins. The premier RSPB Minsmere where Red Deer, Muntjac Deer, Bitterns, Otters, Barn Owls and an array of other wildlife can be found is in walking distance. Fantastic area but don't tell anyone.... We will return.

What a fantastic find.....

Fabulous site, with very friendly owners, Neil and Geraldine. A very spacious field. No traffic noise. Peaceful ++. All you can hear are birds. Nice facilities (two toilet/wet rooms) There is a massive field adjacent to the CL where dogs are free to run riot... Keep away from the bee hives. Our dog loved it and was made to feel very welcome! So much to do too! We loved it and will definitely be back. 10/10

Tranquillity on tap

April 2017 This spacious CL is located in one of England's fascinating counties, with easy access to the Suffolk coastline, wildlife centres and amazing history. We thoroughly enjoyed our first outing of the year and came away feeling relaxed and refreshed. Our hosts, Neil and Geraldine, were most welcoming and ready to answer any query, This led to our visit to the USAF museum at Parham airfield - well worth a visit. Close-by is the RSPB reserve at Minsmere and Dunwich heath. Not too far away is Snape with it's famous maltings. The CL level with a mixture of hard-standing and grass pitches and is well looked after. Up-to-date EHU and water and waste facilities, not to mention the rather nice showers :-) Access is excellent and there is plenty of room to practice reversing !! An evening stroll around the meadows is a highly recommended. For any bellringers - Tuesday night is practice night at the nearby church. Shopping in nearby Saxmundham is good (Waitrose and Tescos) and I particularly commend the optitians (http://www.jandaopticians.co.uk/) for their excellent service. Our thanks to Neil and Geraldine.

Suffolk site

We spent 4 nights here from 16th February and really enjoyed it. It's straightforward to find and access with a hard surface 'road' into the middle of the field, and easy to get to places of interest in the area. We ate at The Lion in the village one night and enjoyed the food. We were on one of the 2 hard-surface pitches but were surprised to find one has to drive across the grass to reach them, and I think these have not really been thought through. The pitch is rounded rather than completely flat and (as commented on by another reviewer) the surface includes broken glass and china, and we wonder how safe this would be with a young child or even dogs. It could also do with being larger as one has to walk on the grass to get to the car, sort out water etc so you've then got wet muddy shoes. I also think the rounded shape would have made pitching an awning slightly tricky, better to use a grass pitch for this. We've only given it 4 stars because of this. Other reviewers say how nice and helpful the owners are but we didn't meet them other than on the last morning when I went to the house to pay before leaving, and Mrs Dougall seemed pleasant.

A delightful site

Pros … * Easy access to the site. * Flat. * Grass well cared for. * Two hard standings. * Two clean and modern heated showers and toilets. * Good toilet disposal. * Quiet. * 5 minute walk from a pub with good food. * Can walk from the site to the beach (about 50 minutes at our slow pace). * The walk to the beach comes out by the South East corner of the Minsmere Nature Reserve and close to several hides. Cons … * Very poor signal on our mobile phones (Three network). This may be a ‘Pro’ for some!!

Suffolk Delight

We spent a long weekend at Fishers Field from 30 September and found it an excellent site with very welcoming hosts. Only 3 miles to Minsmere Bird Sanctuary, walking along quiet country lanes and back on footpaths. The trees around the site are now more mature and provide a good screen and the facilities are excellent with heated shower room. The Lion pub within a few minutes walk from the site does very good meals. Altogether a lovely weekend and we will certainly be going again.
