Take care

I agree with the other reviews about the clean, tidy, peaceful site although there is no mention of the slope, levelling blocks are provided. Take care on the approach as the last two miles is very narrow, twisty and steep with very few passing places. We got caught with two cars expecting us to reverse our caravan into a field, they eventually pulled into a field gateway to let us past but we did struggle. The advertised walks from site turned out to be a bridle path which we were told was unusable as the grass was wet and waist high. There were seven vans on site when we left,

FABULOUS !

This has to be the best we have been on ,very well kept, grass nice and short, beautifully clean toilet, and SO peaceful, fabulous views, JUST PEACE AND QUIET, the approach road is a narrow lane but it is certainly not busy,we stayed for a week and saw very little traffic and didn't meet a single vehicle when towing caravan to or from site, what vehicles there are seem to be to people who live in the lane . Hares in field other side of lane opposite the gate and curlews calling overhead PERFECT. We are very much looking forward to returning.

Peaceful

We stayed at Firtree for 2 nights, we love the site is very quiet, had a walk with our dogs up to Brimham rocks and a coffee at the refreshment stall at the top, would recommend this site, we will stay again.

Lovely quiet site.

Arrived here about 8pm on a Friday night as late of work , rang prior to let owners know and they were very accommodating. Owners where fab and so welcoming, got choice of 2 pitches being in motorhome we opted for one that wouldn't disturb the other campers. Lovely clean site 1 toilet no shower but that is clear from start. You need transport if can't walk far (I have disability) but if not it's just over a mile to Brimham Rocks. we loved the site and owners will be back in summer when the wild flowers are out so I can photograph them. On one of my walks I saw rabbits, red kites, pheasants and lambs. We had such a a relaxing weekend being new to motorhome and camping it was an excellent first trip out in our new van. Water, waste and Elsan point all accessible. We was in a pitch which didn't have grey waste but there was no problems in getting rid of it we just used a bucket with owners permission. Fab site will be back very soon.

Delightful Site

This is a very well kept site, serviced pitches, WC no shower, very near Brimham Rocks. The site is in a beautiful location. We visited Fountains Abbey which was magnificent. It would of been nice to be introduced to the Owners but there no sign of them and no welcome which was a bit of a shame.

Peaceful & Beautiful surroundings

Lovely owners, very well kept site, serviced pitches (levelling blocks required but planks are provided) WC no shower, very near Brimham Rocks which is a fascinating place. Hardly any traffic passing which is wonderful, during Friday ‘rush hour’ I counted 3 cars haha. Small holiday cottage on site too. We loved it and will be back. Thank you for a lovely stay Val x

Charming

Just got back from 4 nights at this delightful site. So quiet (except for my noisy dog). Views were amazing and easy access to lots of lovely places. Was a bit worried about getting my twin axel on to site but thanks to pitch no 2 this was made easy. Will definitely return.

Had a great 6 nights on this lovely CL ...

I had a fabulous 6 nights on this lovely CL. It's very well maintained with very friendly owners. It's peaceful and quiet with access to some fantastic sights nearby. Brimham Rocks is literally around the corner and is a fascinating place to visit. The pitches are fully serviced and are hardstanding so no problem if the weather is bad, although I had 6 days of glorious sunshine.

Beautiful site - hard standings a bonus!

Just returned after a lovely, but very wet, 10 days at Firtree. Thank heavens for excellent hard standings. The well-kept site is beautiful and so peaceful. Yes the curlews make haunting cries over nearby fields. Unknowingly we chose this site well; once you get beyond Pateley Bridge, some of the hills would be extremely challenging with a caravan on tow. Lots of Historic Houses to visit within 20 miles. Fresh eggs at farm down the lane. All in all, a very enjoyable stay - sun came out on the morning of our departure. Glad we made decision to leave awning at home!
