A wonderful CL!

What a lovely CL to stay at and what super hosts. The site is easily accessible, pitches are a good size, a water tap and hook up to each pitch. Close to Dundee and Perth, we would recommend and will visit again if we are in this part of Scotland in the future.

Good little site

We spent 5 nights here just before Easter and found it a very convenient site to use. Good access to both Perth and Dundee, we used the bus that passes the site. Pitches are of a good size, we used the one nearest the gate as we have a long van, there is also a longer pitch at the far end of the first field. Great having water on the pitch, and grey water went to the fruit trees nearby. The pitches were pretty level with hardstanding for the van and plenty of grass for an awning if desired. EHU is 10amps. The nearby road was not particularly busy, we could hear traffic, mainly morning and evening, but it was quiet overnight. Good information booth. Be sure to visit the nearby winery, the fruit wines are very good!

Great little find

Just wanted to say how much we enjoyed staying at Fernlea. You have a super little site and we loved the fresh eggs. Even with bad weather we got to go walking, to the pub in Errol, the carboot, winery and Alibobs for lunch, to V&A in Dundee, Perth, Xmas fayre at Scone Palace We will be back

OK but noisy

Had 7 nights here on this neat and easy to find site. Pitches are grass and hard standing and reasonable size though reversing onto pitches was needed due to narrow drive giving little pitching room without use of M/mover. Poultry was kept in their garden and occasionally a couple got onto the pitches and nibbled some small plants we had bought and left outside the awning.A very busy little road was 50 yards away used by mixed traffic. Not only were the HGV's noisy, they severely disrupted the tv signal. Buses , tractors and even cars affected the picture and sound whichever way the Ariel was pointed. This, despite the site book stating 'TV reception good' Very frustrating when loss of continuity was experienced Eggs were advertised for sale but was told he sold so many to local businesses he never had any left for caravaners. The owners also had 4 Westies which were prone to yapping quite often.Mobile phone signal tended to be poor. On the good side, the info shed was good, it was central to visit lots of places of interest. the grass was nice and short and collected, a water tap was at each pitch, and the owner was friendly. Would we go again? Probably.

A little gem in beautiful countryside

This is definitely one to go for on a short break. Easy to find, beautiful well appointed site and the warmest of welcomes. New laid eggs and freshly dug potatoes were a bonus, as was local knowledge and advice from our host. If you are are coming to this part of Scotland then Fernlea is a must

a little gem

We booked this site for 1 night on route back home to North Yorkshire, very easy access from the motorway, the owners David and Joan were very friendly and helpful on arrival and showed us to our pitch which was very quiet and peaceful with beautiful views all around us. Also there were little animals hens, ducks, rabbits etc which were lovely to watch while sitting outside the van with a coffee! There are lots of places of interest locally which we can plan in on our next visit. Looking forward to calling again very soon. Thank you both very much.

Excellent CL

On arrival we were met by Dave who was great.Explained everything told us where to go,top host. The site was very clean and well kept.A shed that was full of information and books.Water on each pitch is a bonus. The ducks and chickens were fab.The views over the country side where very picturesque. The site was very quiet and not far from the village of Errol, which had shops, pub and restaurants. And to top it off, Scotland's biggest boot sale /market was just down the road. All in all loved it and would stay again in a heart beat. Thanks Dave, see you again.
