Very peaceful week

We've just had a lovely peaceful week at this CL. One other van there when we arrived then we were on our own til Thursday. Nice for us but such a shame because it's such a lovely place. We found enough to do something everyday - the nuclear bunker, Fort Paull, Hornsea, The Deep, Humber Bridge visitor centre, the Spurn Head Safari and of course Withernsea . It's been a lovely lazy week which is exactly what we wanted. And yes, we picked lots of lovely strawberries. The owners even let us in a bit earlier on our last day so that we could pick enough to bring home and make jam. Got 10 jars and it's absolutely delicious!! We've really enjoyed our week and would recommend this site to anyone wanting a peaceful time.

Really enjoyed our stay.

We have just had 5 nights at this lovely CL. We were made very welcome by Mrs Jobling and the pitches were as described with electric hook up and each with its own water supply. At the site entrance there is a notice board full of info & local attractions. The site is ideally placed to visit many different places within an hours drive. We had our 2 year old granddaughter with us; she really enjoyed playing on the CL and watching the hens and sheep in the adjoining paddock. We were there just as the pick your own strawberries were ready on the farm, the red face of our granddaughter, covered in strawberries showed how much she enjoyed her first experience of PYO. Most evenings we were lucky enough to see a beautiful barn owl flying over the caravan, Can’t wait to return.

Basic but nice and clean with easy access from the main road

Very clean well kept site. Easily accessed. Quiet site even though based on a working farm. The owner was very friendly and obviously they take great pride in the upkeep of the pitches. the field is a good size for only 5 vans and there is bags of space and privacy. A Nice walk into the village of Hollym (1/4 mile??) to the Plough Inn for a few real ales. Withernsea is only a mile from the sites if you fancy a visit to the amusements, beach or supermarket etc. I will be visiting the site again its a gem.

Peace perfect Peace

5th August 2013. Just had 5 nights of solitude on this site and considering this is school holiday time we are amazed, however we loved the peace and quiet. Wonderful welcome from Heather who checked on us each day to see if we were OK or had any problems. The site is well kept, bins emptied each day. Water and electric at each of the 5 pitches. Access in/out very good and plenty of room on site to manoeuvre. We had just caught the back end of the PYO Strawberries and Raspberries season and they are gorgeous. Loads of easy cycling or walking to be done in the area. An abundance of very quiet beaches. A 5-10 min walk into village with lovely pub, 4 real ales and friendly dogs that welcome you without any fuss. An ideal base between Withernsea and Spurn Head. We cycled into Withernsea by road 4 days and found the disused railway track route on day 3. Obviously no traffic on this trail but a little overgrown at the Withernsea end causing many nettle stings, so stuck to the road, which wasn't that busy. A visit to Spurn Head was well with the £4 parking fee (free to walkers or cyclist). We'll be back for sure.

Smashing site and location

Loved this site. Beautiful rural location on the edge of a village with lovely pub. Serviced fresh and waste water at each pitch was a pleasant surprise. Lovely walks, particularly out to the coast and up to Withernsea. Very close to the unique Spurn Head which should be on everybody's must visit list. We were made very welcome by Harold and enjoyed the homemade jam.
