Lovely little site near Harrogate
Great for Harrogate
Nice CL
My wife my dog and I spent three nights here over bank holiday. Access is good pitches are on a beautifully manicured lawn however slightly sloping so chocks WILL be required (owner kindly provides bricks etc to aid levelling) our 20m HU lead only just reached the socket (so check before you put steadies down) some traffic noise from busy at times A59 but it wasn't enough to spoil an otherwise peaceful site. Not much work going on in the farm during our stay so cannot comment on that. Lots to visit in the area but as has been said by others footpaths are lacking so dog walking is restricted, I suggest a five min drive to Ripley castle for good dog walking and off lead exercise. All in all a good CL however imo slightly overpriced at £14 per night but it is in an ideal spot to visit various places.
A nice spot near Harrogate
The CL is located very close to Harrogate, which is what we required, My wife needed to be dropped off and picked up at the International centre twice a day. The site is located within a working farm and the owners and their children were charming and very helpful. The owner allowed me to walk my dog in a couple of adjoining fields. It was not possible to take the dog on a long walk from the farm as it was not part of local walking network. This had to be done by going off in the campervan. Just a little downside. There was a pub within half a mile but again it was safest to travel there by campervan. Cost per night was £14, this is not a lot of money, however there are still many CL sites offering toilets and shower facilities for £10 per night. Overall if you need to be located near Harrogate, then this is the site for you.
Good for Good Food Show Harrogate
Warm and friendly Yorkshire family welcome from this site which is ideal for Harrogate shows. Leave the motorhome on site and get a bus or taxi = no hastle. Fair bit of traffic noise from the A59 and remember this IS a working farm so they work with tractors from early morning. Room for a couple of motorhomes but grass too steep so you have to park up close to the main entry - and you will need your blocks. Two pubs close (the Nelson is near enough to walk) and both reasonable. Ideal location for getting into Harrogate, the show ground and RHS Harlow Carr
Long weekend
We spent a long weekend here with our dog and thoroughly enjoyed it, the grass was well manicured but the ground was sloping and blocks were needed, we had a dog show at Wetherby which was within easy reach as was many places, a perfect place to stay and we will be back.
