We had a week on this site in a touring caravan and were very pleased. Easy to find and very easy access being directly off a dual carriageway, Sedgefield is a 15 minute walk, a petrol station 400 metres away and a very large supermarket 5 miles.
The pitches are level, part hardstanding part grass, a good size, well spaced and fully serviced. TV reception was excellent but the site Wifi just didn't work.
I've perhaps been on sites with a better outlook but this was more than adequate and wouldn't hesitate in returning.
We used this site as we were meeting family in Sedgefield. The site is easy to find, level, reasonably priced and only a short walk into the town.
On arrival the welcome was good and overall we were very happy with the site. We will certainly return.
Great site overall. Nice walk into Sedgefield and from there we got a bus to Durham on a beautiful day.
We were surprised that there was an additional charge of £6 a night for electric, however. I don’t think anyone mentioned that and it is a 50% increase in cost!
Nice pitch, fully serviced and we weren’t put off by a little road noise from the nearby dual carriageway.
Very nice greeting on arrival. The pitches fully serviced and lovely and quite. Beautiful walk into sedgfield and great pubs. We will definitely be back.
Thanks
Have stayed here loads of times. Is fully serviced and very quiet. Well looked after and the owners are super friendly and helpful.
Short walk into Sedgefield off road. Plenty of fab places to eat for such a small town - can recommend Julia and Sophias italian restaurant especially. Also a number of takeaways.
Short walk across fields to Hardwicke Park which is a lovely well kept country park with plenty of wild life and a super little cafe.
Within easy driving of seal sands, Durham, Seaham and Metro Centre amongst many other attractions.
A number of cycle routes within easy access and also good walking.
No dogs as its a working farm but that's not a problem for us.
Will be back gain next year - hopefully!
Excellent site with good sized serviced hardstandings, and refuse and chemical toilet emptying nearby. WiFi was very good. Follow the directions on the site's own website and you will not go wrong. Easy access with wide gates. There is some road noise from the A689, but only noticeable early morning, and you soon get used to it. A large folder with details of local attractions was provided, and proved very useful. Price at the time of our visit was £15 inclusive of 16amp EHU........very good value. Lots of places to visit in the area.
Again we have enjoyed a fantastic week break at Donnewell Farm.
So easy to drive to from the A1, he site is clean well kept and the serviced pitches are spacious with the added extra of free wifi and satellite hook up.
The site is within easy reach of some great on and off road cycle routes. In fact there is a route that runs virtually off road through to the coast at Seaham which is a lovely seaside town with a beach famous for its sea glass.
Sedgefield has an abundance of great cafes and pubs offering a wide range of food priced to suit different pockets.
This time we ate twice at Julia & Sophia. An italian restaurant cooking excellent and reasonably priced food.
We hope to return for Christmas to enjoy a relaxing holiday.
We have stayed here 5 times so obviously we like it. The owners are very friendly and greet you with a welcome pack. Peter is a mine of information about the locality - anything you need to know he can fill you in on.
Site fees are very reasonable especially for fully serviced pitches and the TV signal is good.
There is a little noise from the A689 but after an hour you wont even notice it. Other than that it is a very peaceful site.
A short walk along a disused road takes you into Sedgefield. There are several excellent tea shops/cafes, a well stocked Co-op, several pubs and takeaways plus a large Sainsburys close by.
Durham, Middlesborough,Sunderland all a short drive away although Sedgefield also boasts excellent bus routes to all of them.
There is a super Indian restaurant a short walk from the site - The Raaj - one of the best Indian meals I have ever had!
Wynyard Woodland Park and Hardwick Park are close by for walking and NCR No.1 for cycling. Seaham is a short drive for beach fans + sea glass collectors and Dalton Park for shopping.
Stayed at this CL whilst we were house hunting in the area, what a find, has to be one of the best CL`s we have stayed at,water and grey water waste to each hard standing pitch plus EHU and Satellite connection. Lovely views all around and with easy reach of lots of places to visit,The Lake District,Metro Centre, Whitby the list goes on,Peter and Joyce are a lovely couple and can not do enough for you. Will be staying again.
