Can't wait to go back !

A wonderful site can't wait to return , the site is lovely the pitches are huge , peace and quiet you can hear the birds sing , this was our second visit of many more . Great walks on the heath or in the woods , a lovely walk into Potton and if you can find the skate park ( where the car park is ) there is a lovely walk by the river to the church and if you feeling hungry The Royal fisheries do great fish and chips and lovely pizza's , Sandy which is not far away is a small town with a bakers which do lovely fresh cream cakes and nice crusty bread , a Co Op and a few other shops , there is a pretty little church which you can walk around and a chip shop opposite that do lovely fish and chips but only buy 1 portion for 2 people as the servings are huge ( or I'm a small eater ) , if you turn right near the fire station down the road by a housing estate go to the bottom over the bridge and you will find a lovely river walk which will lead you to a mill well worth a visit , Biggleswade is not far plenty of pubs and a shopping centre with a Marks and Spencer , Pets At Home etc so there is plenty to do . We will be back

We will be back

Serge was very friendly and helpful .Very large pitches with space to pitch how you like, an extra ehu lead could be useful on a couple of pitches if you park too far away from the post. Quiet site with good walks directly from site , woods and paths. We will be back !

Fantastic Site

Stayed here a couple of times over the summer of 2020 as our original plans had been wrecked by the pandemic. The site is beautiful with the pitches being very generously sized allowing you to set up anyway you wish and even if the pitch either side is occupied you don't notice them. The pitches are grass with a few shrubs between each pitch but there are plans to add more bushes to make it so the pitches are given further privacy and to help protect from the elements as the pitches care quite exposed at the moment Each pitch has access to its own dedicated electrics and water is available from various points around the site, possibly the only thing that could make the site better would be a dedicated water point for each pitch. The site is extremely popular so advanced booking is required but this is simple enough to do using the sites own website Will certainly be back to see the Poppy Field in full bloom one year

Blackberry Time

I fully agree with the last two reviews, this is a great site. After I initially booked I had second thoughts from a look at google street view but after a subsequent conversion with Serge about access and his commitment to insure that no tree branches would damage my motorhome, we honoured the booking and we were glad we did. Serge had cut off any overhanging branches increasing the access clearance to accommodate my vans height of 3.4 meters and we had an enjoyable 3 night stay on this large level CL. It is within easy walking distance of Sandy Heath and a cycleway accessed from a site gate runs between the Heath and Potton. The centre of Potton which has all services is 1-3/4 miles away (about a half our walk) and passes the Biggleswade-Sandy bus stop at 3/4 mile away and the Royal Oak pub at a mile away. The RSPB visitors centre is a short drive away along the busy B1042 but it is possible to walk or cycle there along the back lanes. Using this latter route it is about 2 miles away. There is a choice of 8 pitches which are well spaced apart on this large level field. Water from 3 water points is never far away although to use some of the marked pitches you will need a 25 meter hook up lead. The immediate area of heath and woodland is popular with dog walkers and at this time of year the CL field yields a good crop of blackberries as does the Heath.

Fantastic Site

we booked this site late on Thursday evening after speaking with Serge on the phone. Its very easy booking for this site, confirmed by email and a link to make a secure payment. Include in the confirmation email was a list of directions from the A1 to the site, this included some pictures of where you need to be careful on arrival not to take the bridleway. On arrival we met the owners who had already told us that we would be on pitch 2. We were made to feel at home straight away. The pitches onsite are enormous and most are seperated by some small shrubs and trees. The pitches are level across the site with 16 amp hook ups. Each water, wthe waste bins as well as the elan point had hand sanitiser in place and there is no issues with social distancing as the pitches are so big. The site is very dog friendly with plenty of good walks directly from the site. Shopping is just a short drive away with the usual supermarkets. This is a little gem of a site, the new owners are working very hard to offer the perfect breakaway. We will definitely be booking again and already looking forward to a return visit.

One of our favourite sites

The handbook says this site is closed, the club website says it's open. I happened to contact them to find out which on the very day they opened again - great timing! I'm so glad I checked, this site is lovely. Serge is very welcoming and helpful, even let us stay a bit later on the day of checkout as he had no bookings that day. The pitches are large, the site feels open and spacious, mature trees and pretty shrubs delicately divide the pitches. There's a beautiful poppy field clearly visible from all pitches and a well used shared cycleway into Potton. TV reception, I hear, is great because you're just a few metres from the sandy transmitter, standing proudly, behind the site. We came back the following weekend as it's a handy stopover for the A1 on our trip to Yorkshire. I'm not sure where it goes but there's a door on the edge of the field. 🤔

Two night visit July 20 Motorhome

What a great CL, booking by phone was a breeze and online payment was brilliant. Received detailed directions with photos which made it so much easier to find the CL, Serge the owner met us on arrival and gave a rundown of the facilities. Lovely large site, Serge kindly allowed us to move pitches next to the poppy field which offered a lovely view and a longer day in the sun. The site was flat and had 16 amp electric with almost individual water taps. We were allowed to let the dogs roam free on the site as long as they didn't bother anyone else which was lovely. ( our 3 don't really roam but it was great they could sit with us by the MH without being tied down). The walks offsite are great , especially around the sand quarry which is managed by the RSPB, we walked the route to the RSPB center about 2 miles away traffic free. Look forward to returning as so many more walks to complete. Thanks again Serge for a lovely visit, its one of the best and luckily only 30 mins drive from home
