Didn’t want to come home!

Just returned from 2 weeks here. This fantastic CL is just one you could keep retuning to. The site is very well kept, peaceful, electric hook up and water at each pitch (don’t forget your hose), also your own dustbin. Sue and Mike are very welcoming and friendly. Easy access to the New Forest, Toby Carvery and Harvester Cat and Fiddle on A35 towards Christchurch if needed. Cliffhanger restaurant at Highcliffe, good food, thoroughly recommend. My husband must of been the best customer at Burley Fudge shop too! Can’t wait to return to site next year.

Relax and unwind

This is my wife’s favourite CL. Each pitch has its own individual water supply besides 16amp electric. You can walk straight out of the site onto the New Forest making it perfect for walking and cycling. At the top of the road is a family pub, which although we didn’t use it this time, we have in the past and the food was lovely. Mike and Sue are very welcoming and there’s even fresh eggs to buy.

A CL you could return to again and again!

Just returned from a weeks stay at this lovely CL. The location is ideal for those who like to be in the Forest quickly by car or foot. The site is mostly flat with short grass and well drained with generous spacing between units. We were just out of 'lock down' for caravaning, the owners have put in extra Covid measures and sanitising stations near touch points, they also sanitises individual and common touch points on a daily basis. The site is very well maintained with individual electric and water hook up points, remember to bring you hose! The communal service point is also very good with a modern elsan point. The information shed is well stocked so you should never be stuck for ideas on what to do each day. The Owners Mike and Sue are very welcoming and always have time to chat and talk about the area. in the adjacent field their dog Sky and ponies Candy, Daisy and May will keep you entertained all day with their antics. A very well kept and run CL that many could learn from. With members returning year after year i can now see why.

Fantastic CL, just perfect

Stayed here for a couple of nights in September 2019 and just loved it. There is something about this CL that will keep us coming back. The pitches are numbered and allocated on arrival with hook up and water on each. Whilst the site is 0.5 acres, with the pitches as they are, there is plenty of room and you are a good distance from your neighbour (we are fussy with this) The owner are delightful, with a very helpful, friendly, yet relaxed attitude. For dog walkers, turn left out of the CL, walk on the road for about 150 m and take the first gravel drive on your right (footpath sign), continue for a further 200 m and enter the Forest.. just perfect.

Loved! Loved! Loved this site, will definitely be returning

We stayed here over the summer with our baby daughter and we both agreed it was one of the most tranquil and beautiful sites we have ever stayed on. Our daughter loved the horses that roam the grass behind and given we had such a young infant we were made to feel at ease instantly. Site is level, with easily access amenities and a helpful hut with a wealth of information on there about the local area and emergency services. I would and will be booking again, as this site is just beautiful. Defiantly worth a stay.

A little gem!

I probably shouldn't be on here singing Danebury's praises as it will only cause more people to turn up to this little gem, so shhhhh! this is just between you and me OK? Set at southern end of the beautiful New Forest national park, Danebury is a lovely site, well looked after and very well organised by Mike and Sue. We are a big double-axle unit but had no problem negotiating the gateway on arrival (though keep your eyes open on approach, the signs are small and with the bushes full-grown in the summer we managed to just overshoot the entrance) and found our welcome letter pinned to the gate with all the information we would ever need about the site and surrounding area, very organised! The site can be booked up so during those times you are allocated a pitch but to be honest there are no bad places to be at Danebury. Two solid gates ensure security and each pitch is serviced with electric and water (husband was most put out he'd forgotten the water hose thingy and still had to pull barrels, we'll know for next time!), and decorated with beautiful flower baskets. The toilet emptying facilities are clean and user-friendly, and recycling is also available. The grass is beautifully mown and the site itself is pretty flat, and very quiet at night with little to no road noise. You may still be woken by the local owl though but who minds that? Once dark Danebury also has very little light pollution so we did a lot of stargazing as in August the Perseids meteor shower is happening and we saw some great shooting stars laid out on the loungers in blankets with beers. On the Saturday night we did hear a little party noise from the local social club (whoever you were, your rendition of Auld Lang Syne was truly epic!) but all was completely quiet by 11pm, and there was no noise at all any other night of the week. The Husband is a keen mountain biker so we kicked him out the door one day for a hefty 23 miler through the Forest and heathland (while we girls chilled out on Danbury's quiet lawn - we're not daft!) and he came back with a big smile on his face so I can be pretty sure it's a good spot for access to the Forest if serious biking is your thing. Our girls (8 and 5) were made very welcome by the owners and ran around pretty much barefoot for 6 days, we visited the Sea Life Centre in Bournemouth on a wet day, cycled different trails through the Forest, paddled in streams, ate excellent Fish and chips from The Rainbow takeaway, visited the New Forest Wildlife Park (be prepared to want to kidnap an otter and take it home with you!), there were ponies in the middle of roads, longhorns grazing on the verges and sheep nibbling bushes wherever you looked, excellent pubs and food, and it was all just delightfully 'foresty'! Be prepared for serious house-envy as well. We've been to the area before and we've still left with a long list of things undone such that we've already booked again for next year. Thank you Mike and Sue, we'll be back!

One to return to

Have just spent 8 nights on this wonderful site. The owners are very welcoming, friendly and helpful. The site is spacious, well maintained and the recycle and waste disposal point is excellent. It is a great site for dogs with lots of walks into the forest areas. The site is ideally located for touring around the area to visit its many tourist sites. This is a site I will defiantly visit again when in the area.

One to Return To

Just had 4 nights on this lovely site and wish we could have stayed longer. A welcoming letter was on the gate to greet us and tell us which pitch we were on. The pitches are all grass but this was not a problem for our motor home. An ideal site for dogs as the forest is only a 5 minute walk away. There was some building work going on locally at the time of our stay but this won't be for ever and didn't spoil our break as most of the time it was peaceful. The owners are friendly as are their 2 dogs and the 3 horses/ponies which are very well cared for. There are chickens kept outside of the camping field boundary and eggs are available for purchase. We found the site to be well maintained and were lucky enough to have water direct to our pitch along with electrics. The rubbish/chemical emptying point was kept very clean. We will definitely return. Thank you for a splendid short break. Bob & Shirley Ellis

This is a lovely well run CL site. When you arrive there is a welcome letter for you on the gate, which gives you all the basic information required. Plenty of space. Very friendly owners. Pitches are self service except for waste. Site is flat and grass well kept.. Entrance has plenty of room to drive off road before opening the gate. There are two gates to open, but that is extra security so was no problem. Forest Walks only a few moments away.

Lovely site

Had a pleasant 3 night stay at the site this August. Short notice booking and luckily they had space for us. Grass was nice and short with level pitches. Can be a bit tricky pulling out of the site due to a hedge. Great value at £15 per night.
