Very Well Organised

This is a lovely CL with EHU and Water on every pitch ( so no need for a water barrel if you have the hose link). It is situated in an area of outstanding beauty with many lovely walks nearby particularly the Reservoirs and The Grand Union Canal nearby. BUT As some other reviewers commented on it is directly on the flight path into Luton Airport and now that Covid is under control flights have probably increased by 200% since last year's reviews. It is non stop at weekends and goes on till 2am in the morning and starts again at 6am. This is a great pity because the owner could not have been more efficient with the booking

Just what I was looking for

Nicely secluded, secured gate access, five spacious pitches well provisioned and laid out. Very pleasant to see the horses on the other side of the pitch fence. A little occasional aircraft noise common to this area same as Bucks. My stay was thoroughly relaxing complete with a couple of walks to the beacon not too far away. There’s not much more one would ask for, a lovely little site and hope it stays that way, it’s so much nicer staying on CLs like this one. I will definitely be returning later in the year.

Alovely few days getaway

What a lovely site, so well organised, Water, electric, wood blocks available at all pitches. We were staying to see friends and family that were local and the directions were accurate and easy to follow, even for some of our visitors. Other than a bit of noise from the planes going in to land at Luton it was very quiet. Walks with the dog up Hog Hall Lane ( Icknield Way) was just lovely. Lovely views and not too many centurions.

Wonderful CL Site

We have just returned after a 3 night stay and would highly recommend this CL site to anyone who is visiting the area. Very close to Whipsnade Zoo and Dunstable Downs, which is an area of outstanding natural beauty. Really nice pub nearby called the Red Lion, which is less than a 10 minute walk from the site and serves very good food. Each pitch has its own electric hook up, water supply and grey water disposal. Great walks directly from the site helped make this a very enjoyable stay.

Good late Autumn stay

We stayed over Autumn half term to visit Whipsnade with grandchildren - for which the site is very convenient. I was concerned that after the rain the ground would be soggy but it was surprisingly firm. The site is well set up and the online booking very straightforward. When I wanted to bring the arrival time forward Charles replied promptly and it was no problem. Very nice to see rain covers over the hand sanitiser users. The drive is a bit narrow and rutted but acess from A road and then B road direct to the drive is also very useful. Recommended!

Great location for touring the area

Visited for 6 days to see the wonderful autumn colours and visit friends. Probably one of the easiest CL's to book with the online system and email contact. Arrival time after 2pm is late compared to a lot of CL's but the short access road is used by other vehicles with no passing places so can understand the need for differing arrival and leaving times, but there is plenty of free parking at Ashridge estate if you want to be earlier of contact the owner who is extremely helpful and accommodating. Site is easy to locate if you follow the directions, would be clearer if a CL sign could be placed alongside the road or on the flower tubs but as long as you look where told to and slow down it is easy to find. Keycode entry works fine providing you give the gate time to release and it doesn't swing back onto your vehicle. Plenty of space, incredibly tidy and clean. Pitch up and straight out onto the footpaths, just perfect. Looks of free parking around the area if you want to walk different section of the chilterns, or visit surrounding area, towns, villages there is just so much to do within a 30 mins drive. This site is competitively priced with no hidden additional charges. Farm shop and pub within the village but road system is so quick you can get most places easily, just driving along the roads is enjoyable due to the scenery. Past reviews have mentioned aircraft noise but they aren't that frequent - could just be covid, the noisiest the thing with the red kites ! If you love walking, road cycling, quaint villages, canals, rivers then this site must be on your to do - we've added it to our favourites and hope to come back again and again

Fantastic CL

We have just returned home after spending five great days at Dagnall Farm. This is only the second year it has been a CL and it certainly ticks all the boxes for us. It is very easy to get to and find and is tucked away nicely from the hustle and bustle of town and city life. We were down here spending time with our daughter who lives in St Albans and Dagnall was ideal being only thirty minutes away. There is some great walking in the vicinity and Ashridge Estate is a must to visit with many miles of footpaths to walk on. The CL is really well maintained with EHU and water on each pitch. Charles the owner made himself known to us and is very pleasant and easy to get on with. He has also done a great job with hand sanitising gel adjoining the gate and waste compound. Lastly, there is a great local pub just five minutes walk down the road, good beer, food and chat. I have no hesitation in recommending this CL to visit

Perfect CL site

We had a lovely week-long stay here. A perfect CL site with flat serviced pitches. The local pub is 5 mins walk away and lovely with a beautiful garden and a good value menu. Walking from the site is wonderful with direct access up to the Chilterns and Ashridge Estate. The easy access means there is some road noise but it doesn't detract from the peaceful views and surroundings. We even had the pleasure of witnessing a gathering of 9 Kites socialising and circling the field. We will definitely be returning

close, quiet, lovely

This lovely site is easily accessible from London (26 miles) and was a great launching point from picking up our motorhome at Toddington. Charles is an absolute gentleman and the site is easily found, secure and has everything that you need. As a bonus, the local pub is a 5 minute walk away (great ambience, great meals)and the local squirrels and horses kept the kids entertained! we booked 1 night and ended up staying 2, with its handy location only 30 minutes from Warner Bros studio at Levesden. Thank you Charles!!

Lovely, peaceful site

We loved this site for a number of reasons. It is a serviced pitch and the site is well maintained with nice touches such as leveling blocks on each pitch. There are walks directly from the site to the NT Ashridge Estate and easy access to lots of lovely villages in the Chilterns. The access is easy, and Charlie was very welcoming. We will definitely be returning at some point.
