Great chill out site

Had a two day stay and was really impressed with the pitches and layout of site, owners are always on the go doing stuff, great cycle tracks and excellent pub 10mins walk away, would recommend this site, will return for longer stay.

Two week stay in September

We booked for ten nights, and extended to 14 nights due to my husband unexpectedly needing to travel on business. The location was perfect for exploring Staffordshire and Derbyshire including the Manifold Way, Tissington trail, Dovedale, Caulke Abbey and Chatsworth which were highlights of our trip. We had a fully serviced pitch on the CL, with access to separate male and female facilities including toilets (2no), showers (1no), a single washing up sink (1no), a washing machine and tumble drier operated by 50p coins. The access to the site has recently been upgraded, with a;electronic barrier close to the main road and a padlocked gate prior to the CL field. A nice CL in a rural location with village access to pubs, a local shop and a fish & chip shop.

loverly site but is it a C/L

We booked the CL site but put on the 15 van site next to it. It was peaceful and pleasant plenty of room . Good pub grub just down the road ,fish &chip shop and shop. cycle track near by. Showers were new ,clean. The only gripe I have could you have a folding bench as the space is tight and as I am getting on I need to sit down when I dry myself and a mirror would be handy.

Message from the owners of crowtrees

We at Crowtrees wish to reply to the previous review of our site. Firstly thank you for bringing a few matters to our attention. We are still waiting for the new information to go on CAMC website which would inform people about the 15 pitches and also our website www.crowtreescaravansite.com ,i will chase this up immediately. We have taken on board your comments about the children on bikes,we have now put a chain across the access from the cl to the new site to stop this happening again. As for the rude people that were making a noise late at night the rules of the site are to be considerate to other site users after 10.30 as stated on the welcome sheet that you collect on arrival,if this had been brought to our attention at the time we would of acted on it. Myself and my family try to give people who stay with us a warm welcome and a pleasent stay and do everything we can to give club site facilities at cl prices but understand that not every site is for everyone and you can't give everyone what they want all the time. Once again thank for your review

If only it was only a CL

We Stayed here for a weekend a week ago, we had looked at this site on numerous occasions and thought that we would book it. We were not told on booking that the owner has now built a 15 pitch site on the same field, and not really separated from the CL. we had Children from this other site riding bikes around our vans on the CL. It is not an adult site, but there were not children at the 5 vans on the CL. The showers and toilets are now shared with the 15 pitch site. There seemed to be a lot of people saving pitches for friends and family that arrived later and were out side until around 12am. Entrance to the site very good and lots to do in the area, just a shame about the other site as we would not have booked it if we had known, thats why we chose CL's.

It's Great

I want to tell you how awful this site is and keep it for myself but I'm going to be honest and say this is a great site. Clubsite facilities at CL prices. Very friendly owner who works hard to provide excellent facilities. Loads to do near by. Manifold Valley Cycle path and cycle hire. Excellent walks. You must visit the The Old Yew Tree pub a 25 minute walk it is unique. This one of my favourite sites. There's a great chippy and village shop also a short walk away. Alton Towers Leek and Ashbourne not far. Give it a try.

PEAK DISTRICT GETAWAY

This is a working farm with a lovely flat site with water taps and EHU on each pitch, it is well kept overlooking fields with horses in, it has good facilities but the disabled area is only a wet room it does not have any aids eg hand rails, or a higher toilet. The water was VERY hot and plenty of loo rolls are available. There is a dog walking field with a 'poo' bin for waste disposal. The information shed has plenty of literature and fresh eggs were on sale. Surroundings are beautiful and there are country parks in the Leek area also the NT Ilam country park is close by as is Alton Towers. Walking and cycling locally and on arrival back at site a facility to wash your dog or bike down.

Marvellous site - well worth a visit!

Brilliant site with stunning views. Three local pubs within walking distance and a great chippy and local shop just a short walk away. Manifold track just over the road for stunning walks and cycling. Ashbourne and Leek are both a short drive away and the site is right on the edge of the Peak District. Facilities on the site are modern, clean and tidy plus there are fresh farm eggs for sale in the information kiosk along with leaflets about all of the local attractions. Access is brilliant and there is plenty of turning space. The pitches have plenty of room and all have individual water taps, electric hook up, grey waste and external light. The site is tastefully lit at night and the lighting does not to spoil the starry sky above. The site owners Craig and Ruth are really nice, helpful and accommodating people. Crowtrees is simply a really nice place to stop for a weekend or a week or two. We will defiantly be back!
