Happy, simple, effective greeting. Ease of access and absolutely first class facilities both at pitch and in the toilet/laundry block, even including manicured grass - with collected cuttings. Exemplary standards without the slightest hint of that clinical sterility that can so diminish the happy and easy enjoyment of some locations.
Can we come again please?
David and Joyce
Stayed here for 4 nights 17th Apr 2023.
Fantastic welcome on arrival, explained were everything was. View from pitch over fields to river.
Hardstanding fully serviced pitch was good.
Great dog field for dogs to run and play.
Would definitely revisit and recommend
The CL is easy to find with very clear directions. The arrival was straight forward and the barrier with code means the site is very secure. The owners are very helpful and approachable. The CL and main site are very well laid out with plenty of space and views of fields and horses. The pitches are excellent, well maintained hardstanding and individual EHU, water and grey waste. Great toilets and showers. It would be worth updating the CMHC site to show online booking only. The booking is very easy. Within walking distance to have 3 pubs, a well stocked shop and fish and chips is a real bonus for those staying longer. Great access to the Manifold Way for cycling and walking a mile away. It’s a real bonus to have a dog and cycle wash. Thank you we will be back.
Stayed here first time this weekend. Lovely welcome on arrival. Pitches spacious and fully serviced. This site has everything you need. Showers and toilet block, washing up area, and even laundry facilities. Large dog walk area too. We ambled down to the pub and got chips on way back and walked across the fields to yew tree inn (a few stiles to climb so not for those with poor mobility) will definitely be back soon. Highly recommended !
Easy to book online. Spacious fully serviced pitches with grass and trees in between. Warm welcome from owners, easy access from road & good security with keypad access to site. Showers & toilets spotless and plenty of hot water at all times. Don’t have a dog so can’t comment on dog walk facilities. Lovely views. Slight road noise but not intrusive. Great stay here would definitely recommend and we’ll be back.
Good size pitches with EHU, water and drainage. Excellent security with number recognition and key pad. Slight more expensive than other CL's but well worth it. Good dog exercise field and dog walking from site. The seasonal pitches beyond the CL have their own entrance so wasn't a problem. Maybe an up to date photo showing the proximity of the seasonal pitches would be a good idea. But overall a very well kept site. Would definitely recommend.
Once again, we were keen to get away once lockdown ended. We arrived at Crowtrees on the afternoon of Monday 12 April & first impressions were great - easy access from the main road, good security (one gate with number plate recognition, one with a number key pad) and a cheery welcome. The hardstanding pitch was easily big enough for both caravan & awning and the EHU, drainage & water supply were within easy reach. £23 per night for a CL is a bit on the high side, but we felt the facilities justified it.
Due to remaining restrictions, we used our onboard facilities most of the time but when we did use the toilets they were clean & good social distancing/sanitising arrangements were in place.
Given how close we were to the main road, the amount of traffic noise was minimal. Fresh eggs available to purchase on a CL is always a bonus & these were large & delicious. One area I would have marked them down on was the lack of recycling facilities, but lo & behold during our stay some nice new bins for glass & other recycling were installed - another tick!
This is a great site with very good facilities, fully serviced pitches and views across the Staffordshire Moorlands. The site is close to the Manifold Bike Trail and is convenient for Leek, Ashbourne and the Peak District. Be aware that the image is somewhat out of date as there are now approximately 12 seasonal pitches situated beyond the CL. These pitches have their own entrance and we did not find them at all intrusive as the CL is completely separate from the adjacent site.
Just stayed 2 nights at crowtrees farm CL 18&19 October 2019, what a lovely clean, neat, tidy site, the check in was so simple, a lovely young lady met us at the keypad barrier and gave us the code, we paid her simple, everything was explained and we were shown the immaculate services the site has, showers, toilets washer/dryer info booth, lovely free range eggs we had boiled one morning at £2 a doz great value.this site is one of the best CL sites we have been on and we tend to only use CL sites as there more personal and we love working farms. There is a shop a pub and a fish shop all within a very short walk, and bakewell and Buxton are 20 mins away by car. The site is flat, all hard standing pitches with hook up and your own tap and grey waste disposal, the lawns are mown short and grass collected. If you park facing the river the views over the valley as the sun goes down are stunning. Well done crowtrees farm, we will be back. Marc&shelley motorhomers from Leeds.
Well what can I say..This is one of the best kept CL's I have ever visited. They have really thought this through. Excellent security, inc automatic barrier & code controlled gate on entry. Hard standing, very clean 2 x showers & 5 toilets (although we did not use) info hut, washer & dryer in kitchen. Each pitch is fully serviced with electric, water & grey waste. Bins, emptying point x 2 & dog/bike wash area close by. YES there is another 15 van site next to the cl BUT we were thee during the kids holidays so both sites were full BUT there may as well had been just us as the site was very quiet & peaceful with no obvious effect of the other site. ALMOST PERFECT my only gripe! I got the impression? that the owners did not like the pitching of awnings on the grass next to the hardcore & I had trouble pegging out my awning. I feel that IF the wind had picked up the awning would have been away. I did use steel pegs and proper hammer but the pegs I did manage to get in kept easing out. Other than that we will visit again probably without the awning. Cheers. Ridge.
