Pennine view........... and some

Excellent welcome and all facilities fully explained. Serviced pitch always a bonus but less so for a two night stay. Very slight occasional very low level road noise from A66 but only just noticeable and not an issue for us. Views to the east absolutely superb. Good network of footpaths including those leading to Dufton and the pub there which does excellent food at very competitive prices. Good range of real ales also. Cycling in vicinity also excellent on quiet roads and for Cumbria not too hilly! Access from A66 easy on wide roads.

Relaxing break

Just had 5 nights at this CL and thoroughly enjoyed them. Warm welcome and van sited for us, was a great help. The views are excellent and we could have spent all day enjoying them. All pitches have hook up, water & waste which is brilliant. We visited most of the lakes while there, and a few pubs. The kings arms in Temple Sowerby was probably our favourite for food, the New Inn, which is the one you can walk to is friendly, but we waited nearly an hour for our food, which spoiled it a tad. Overall our break was lovely, and we will return to this CL Stuart & Audrey

FANTASTIC

What a fabulous site this is! The owners are so friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The views from the site are superb , there is a local pub a 20 minute walk down the fields to with another about a 40 minute walk. The site is really quiet and peaceful, each pitch is spacious with a fresh water tap and drain for your water . The site is really clean, bins emptied daily, a little information booth, even where you empty your loo is spotless! HIGHLY recommended and we will definitely return.

My idea of heaven

We have stayed at this site three or four times since 2010 and every time is an absolute pleasure. When you arrive the greeting is always warm and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble and if you need anything the owners will assist in anyway possible. The site is well maintained and organised and the views are just stunning. With so much to see and do locally, walks from the site, local Pubs what more could you ask for. Its possible you may never want to go home.

Truely lovely CL

This CL site is one of the best I have been on. We were greeted to a very warm welcome when I arrived and nothing was too much trouble for Val and Andrew the site owners. Val runs a bed and breakfast as well. The pitches are spacious and fully serviced with wonderful views across to the North Pennines and Blencathra. Access is easy of the A66 with Appleby worth a look with some excellent local bakers and butchers. Its just a short stroll over the field to the New Inn where good beer and food is served at reasonable prices and the locals very friendly. Dogs are allowed in the pub as well. If you like the outdoors and enjoy walking then this CL will spoil you.

Beautiful CL

We had the pleasure of stopping at this CL, the serviced pitches are all hard standing and have wonderful views facing the Penine Way. Mrs Bellas greeted us with a warm welcome on arrival and was very helpful & friendly. There is an information room containing a large amount of leaflets etc. concerning the area. A very peaceful & tranquil site. It is a pity it is so far away or we would be frequent visitors.
