Several visits

We have used this site on numerous occasions to meet up with friends in Exminster and have always found it to be peaceful and well managed. Walk through the farm shed courtyard across the lane from the site and continue up the farm track to the top of the gradual slope to be rewarded with a great view of the estuary.

Just a minute?

Very neat and tidy site with pleasant views. Access is down a narrow lane which links up again with the A379 towards Powderham. Site owner seemed stressed but pleasantish. Bottom of site boggy and was not useable when we visited but you could get a glimpse of the estuary if you went in one corner. At £13 night we thought the wc facilities were a let down; although beautifully clean there was no wash hand basin (requirement?) and the timed lighting arrangement of one minute both in the wc and pay metered shower was not a happy situation to be in for some of us. Notices about being careful with electricity and water that we could have lived without also. On the plus side it is very handy for local small golf course/club house and near RSPB reserves but watch out walking the lanes as some are well used. Hesitate to give it four stars but obviously a popular site with others.

A lovely well positioned site in a tranquil small orchard. I haven't rated it as 100% peace and tranquility due to the noise of the huge number of wild geese flying over head - the site of them was fantastic! The facilities were very clean and the provision of a sink and hot water for washing up very welcome. The only small negative point was the shower - very slippery and nothing to sit on or hold on to; also it was 20p for 2 minutes via a meter that was outside the locked area of the shower cubicle. Given the site is so fantastic otherwise, and reasonably priced too then I really didn't mind, but at least my wife was on hand to feed the meter, or the rest of the site residents could have got more of an eyeful than they deserved! A popular site - you do need to book during school holidays.
