Our favourtie site in Weymouth

My husband is a SCUBA diver so we stay at Cowslip Cottage when he is diving from Weymouth. We've stayed here many times and there is always a warm and friendly welcome and it's just so peaceful with fantastic views. We cycle in to Weymouth center so no parking fees and so easy. We've never seen more than 5 caravans/motorhomes, often less as we usually go out of season. Also the facilities are immaculate. When the grandchildren aren't with us, as it's an adult only site, we wouldn't stay anywhere else in Weymouth.

Excellent CL with good views

What a wonderful CL: well kept, excellent facilities in a spotless toilet block - including a washing machine! Welcoming owner, and easy to find. I don't know when the previous reviewer was there but we stayed for a week in September and the most units on site during that time were four. I agree it is slightly small (the listing says 1/2 acre so one should be prepared) but the layout of the site and views across the valley make it feel much bigger. We also felt it had a very friendly, welcoming atmosphere There is some road noise but it wasn't intrusive. We would stay here again if in the area.

Compact site with good facilities

Positives: Very welcoming owners. Excellent facilities. Handy for local attractions. Good pub and shops a mile down the road. Negatives: The site was smaller than we had expected and had 6 vans on it for most of the time we were there. Road noise was evident at certain times of the day. The Hardy Monument could be seen from our van, as could a line of electricity pylons which were a bit imposing. A bit pricey at £17 a night.

A little Gem

This site was perfect.  Small, beautiful views, very nice shower and toilet block and the owners were very nice and helpful.  I would definitely recommend it.  The views are amazing and the location is great for the coast. Thank you Linda

Weymouth Beauty

What a beautiful surprise when we arrived at this CL. We where not sure what it would be like after coming down the road through a built up area. But once down the road and it opens up into some nice country side. On entering the site you are faced with open views, to fields of sheep and horses. The sit is partly sloping but they have some blocks if needed to help with levering. The amenities block is fabulous, two toilets, shower and filtered water for drinking, (not had that before) along with a washing machine, ALL FREE. The site itself is immaculate with ample room for your van and awning. The local beaches and supermarkets are just a short distance away and to come back to wonderful site after a days sight seeing is just wonderful. A CL for our special book.

EXCELLENT CL

Well what a difference from the CL (Manor Farm)we were at outside Worcester (the case of wipe your feet as you leave). The facilities here were excellent and spotlessly clean. A credit to the owner.Very friendly and helpful. Close to Weymouth and Portland for sight seeing and the shops etc.

Cracking CL

Just back from 4 nights at the wonderful Cowslip Cottage. A warm welcome from the owners and an explanation of the facilities, which are as good as any club site, and immaculate. Had a great few days, used the P&Ride and did the open top bus to Portland Bill. Definitely a favourite and we hope to return soon.

Small but Beautiful

We have just spent a week on this site. It's a sloping site with great views. There is a very clean and well built washroom which seems very new. The whole site is clean and well maintained. Mr & Ms Durant are friendly and helpful. There is a public footpath from the site leading down through the horse paddocks, just right for a walk with the dog. Weymouth and Portland are nearby. Don't use a Sat Nav with a caravan as the lanes to the east are very narrow. We will definitely visit again when we are in the area. This is one of the best CL's we have ever been to
