beautiful setting

Stayed for a couple of nights, plenty of options where to site your caravan/motorhome, choice of 2 paddocks and a hard standing, we chose main paddock with views over the countryside and enjoyed watching the calves in the field. Facilities basic but good value for money. Would go back again

Ok for over night stop

Some of the photos do big it up up a little, access to site is a little tight around the falling down barn. Pitch sizes are quite good if there only 5 vans on the site, not helped some idiotic camper van how decided they could park where they liked, totally blocking out a good part of our view across the fields. It is Ok to say people can site where they like, but some people do not have common sense. ( sorry but it is true).

Views a'plenty

Originally booked for 3 nights but due to bad weather (Hector) we stayed in North Berwick for an extra night. Owner was okay when we phoned to cancel. Site is as described by others, no one there when we arrived so it was nose on to the fence with fantastic views to the north. Facilities could do with a bit of tlc, the shower was a no no. Plenty of places to visit within an hours drive but close to hand is the Dirty Dog. Its an American smokehouse style carry away place that does burrito's, wraps and burgers all at excellent prices. One burrito will feed two of you with ease and they cater for vegetarians. Small, quiet, basic but excellent value and all within 2 miles of the motorway.

A Curate's egg

This site is a bit of a curate's egg. We really enjoyed our stay, partly because we placed ourselves in a little paddock area all by ourselves that wasn't that obvious on first arrival. Otherwise there seemed little space and all that was available looked like a cramped hard standing, so where you locate could have a big impact on your impressions of the site. There are far reaching countryside views and we enjoyed watching the swallows flying and the cows in the fields. The area used to be more industrial and there is a quarry and landscaped tips in the distance. There is a little road noise but not intrusive. The wi-fi was welcome as we've been away from home touring for a while. The site offers excellent value for money. On the down side, the farm buildings were very dilapidated, it would be good to have separate drinking water and grey water disposal points to avoid contamination and the shower could do with some TLC. Main negative was that on the last night there were eight units which made the rest of the site feel rather crowded and quite a lot for a single WC. Access to the site is very well signed and very easy. We visited New Lanark world heritage site and would highly recommend it along with the walk from there along the Clyde to see the waterfalls. We also visited the fascinating Craignethan castle. We climbed Tinto hill/moutain (not sure which at 2,200ft) which had superb views from the top.

Cracking CL

Staying here overnight on our way further north & would have liked to stay longer, just the kind of CL we like. Plenty of room, lovely views and a warm welcome. If you want five vans in a row and a manicured lawn this CL probably isn’t for you, but if you like character and plenty of space and wi-fi (!) then it’ll be right up your street.

Good stopover

This is a good informal CL for a short stopover en route north or south, or for a visit to New Lanark. Road access is easy from the A74, and access to the farmyard is easy. Much of the CL is in fact a farm yard, and the place is "agricultural" and more than a little tumbledown, but that is not to detract from its excellent location as a stopover. Be aware though that the website photos were taken on a good day from a good angle, and expect to prefer your own facilities. However, we stayed two winter nights there (so as to spend a day in nearby New Lanark) and were perfectly happy, and rate it as good value for money. We would not however use it as a holiday destination.

First club Visit

Cracking little place, pitches based in a field at the back of the farm. Left to you own devices with no hassle. You get what you pay for and that's the deal here. Two nights for £24, saved half my membership in one weekend. Thanks Barry and the lady who welcomed us 😊

Wonderful stop over on way further north

Arrived on site mid afternoon with 16ft caravan. Young man working nearby allowed us to pick whichever spot suited our needs. Spoilt for choice. The local shop within a few minutes walk stocked everything we wanted and, surprisingly, the prices were low. Pity the pub was shut and wanting new tenants, but still you can't have everything. Views spectacular. Only thing missing on site was a mop and bucket in the shower/toilet room, but I'm sure that has been put right by now. I have paid twice this price for less facilities. Well worth a visit. We only stayed for the one night, that won't happen again, must stay longer.
