Just returned from a five night break and had the best time ever at this great adult only location. The previous review tells all - everything about this site is perfect and so so quiet. We managed two visits to Salcombe and also Kingsbridge and Dartmouth. Highly recommend the Old Inn at Halwell (ten minutes drive away) - excellent meal and very friendly service, and for breakfast, try the coffee shop at the Garden Time nursery on the way to Dartmouth.
Lovely spacious pitches and you can have your van anyway round - we came as two couples in two vans and it was perfect being close to each other but not having to be alongside. We will definitely be back - hopefully soon - as there were so many other places we wanted to get to but just couldn't fit everything in. Tina was a lovely friendly host, but not intrusive at all, and keeps the site immaculate.
What a gem
This site is an absolute gem, it’s location is central for the whole South Hams District and Dartmoor, the pitches are reasonably level, each pitch has access to its own drinking water tap,EHU, and waste water is easily disposed of in the hedge. The grounds are very well maintained and during our two week stay the grass was mown every time a van left site, recycling and chemical toilet are in a well maintained fenced off area. Access to the site is down a short section of single track with adequate passing places, there is very little traffic, mainly the odd tractor. Don and Tina run a great little adult only site, there are two clamping units on site that are very different/bespoke and finished to an excellent level of quality, I would not hesitate in inviting my non caravan friends to spend a holiday break in either of them and they don’t impact at all on the spacious layout of the site. We’re already looking to return as there wall is so much left to see and do that we couldn’t fit it all into our two weeks break.
Beautifully situated quiet CL
Some good reasons to book a stay at Lower Collaton; very quiet off the main Totnes to Dartmouth road on a no through lane to 2 farms. Just the odd tractor passing. Pitches have water and power and the grey water is easy to dispose off. Chores therefore minimised!
Well situated midway between the coast at Dartmouth or the edge of Dartmoor at Buckfastleigh. Also a warm welcome from Don and Tina. We did arrive after a dreadful period of March rain and the field was pretty sticky but Don has a tractor for emergencies (not needed in the event) and fine weather dried up the field quickly.

10 wonderful days at this site
Just spent a lovely break at this beautiful site. The scenery is stunning and we spent many hours just relaxing and enjoying it. Tina is lovely, very welcoming and helpful and you’re just left to relax with no interference but she’s close by if needed. Our friends who don’t caravan stayed in the wonderful safari tent, the height of luxury. Overall a fab site and would definitely return.
Beautiful views
The farm is on a lane from a main road so easy to access. Pitches face onto beautiful rolling countryside.
Helpful owners, electricity good connection, individual water taps, all good!
Loads of places to visit nearby.
Would definitely return.
First time on a CL
We have just returned from a tour of the South West and had a great 6 night stay on Collaton Farm. The owners Tina and Don were friendly and made us very welcome, as the review title says it was our first stay on a CL and we loved it! We stayed on pitch 2 with our caravan which was spacious, had its own tap and electric so was no problem regarding Covid. The farm is nicely tucked away from the main road with good access and surrounded by beautiful Devon countryside, we could easily have stayed for longer but had other plans. Thank you Tina and Don, we hope to visit again.

What a great site to stay at a Devon gem
As we arrived we were met by the owner who was very friendly and helpful who showed us to our pitch and facilities. We stayed at the top of the field with lovely views. The grass was kept short. It was very quiet well off the main road which leads to Dartmouth which is only a few miles away with supermarket and park and ride. The site is perfectly situated for visiting both countryside and seaside. Yes alright the middle pitch No4 might be a bit awkward to pitch if your a novice but the remainder are no problem. I would definitely return if I was in the area it really is a lovely site.
Holiday 2016
A lovely quiet site, we were on pitch 2 which was almost level, we would also have been happy at the top of the field with the best view. A very warm welcome from Tina when we arrived. Fresh eggs and in season veg available for sale. We hope to revisit at some point, it is a shame it is such a long way from Yorkshire.

A Little Taste of Paradise
We have just spent 3 nights at this lovely site & thoroughly enjoyed it. Yes - there are a couple of steep pitches but also 3 on the level at the lower end of the field. The very top pitch has been levelled out & has fabulous views. We chose the next pitch down & used levelling blocks which wasn't a problem. We had lovely views over the countryside. The grass was short & the facilities were all fabulous. Very friendly family & Tina let me have a bottle of milk on our arrival as we hadn't had chance to pick one up on the way. Highly recommended & would definitely return.

Nice site but very steep in places
Nice pleasant and clean site. The main problem is the steepness of the site. The three positions at the bottom of the field were fine, but the top two were very steep. A motorhome wouldn't be able to level near the top. Other than that it is a nice site and owners were very friendly and helpful.
