Ease of arrival/welcome

Large flat site with a warm welcome. Narrow approach road which widens after a short distance

We spent 5 nights at Cobbs Meadow. Our welcome was lovely and friendly and we were given an information sheet which was handy and we had a nice chat. There is a pony and 2 donkeys in the next field which we were delighted about as they were interesting to watch. There was plenty of space between pitches - huge in fact, even when there was 5 of us. We walked to the village of Bridge which was a lovely walk where there was a Londis shop for essentials, a couple of pubs and even a fish and chip van when we went. The village is pretty, the church is so picturesque and we came back via Patrixbourne which was so pretty as well especially with the wisteria on the converted Oast house (this walk was about 2.5 miles each way). We also walked towards the outskirts of Canterbury which took us just over 30 mins although I imagine it was another 30 mins to the very centre but we were leaving that day so didn't have time. I know the people next to us walked into Canterbury 2 days running so very do-able. The field was flat, it did stay quite wet underfoot after the rain but its a field so is to be expected I'd imagine but I'm not sure how it would be in the winter. The approach road from Bekesbourne is narrow at the bottom, we were lucky on our way in and didn't meet anyone where it was narrow but were unfortunate enough to meet about 6 people on the way out down the lane which was a bit hairy as we are newbies but people did back up... thankfully. Would we go again? ABSOLUTELY! Was great for touring the south, east and North coasts of the area. We covered Canterbury, Whitstable, Tankerton, Herne Bay, Reculver Towers, Broadstairs, Kingsgate Bay and Botany Bay - just the most perfect bays - note Kingsgate Bay is dog friendly where many others are not from May-Sep, Chillam, Godmersham and Hythe. We had a busy 6 days :D
