Love this CL

We have visited Cobbs Meadow several times with our 2 Springers and have always found it to be a place we want to return to. The owner is both friendly and helpful. There is a public footpath practically opposite the site entrance which leads into fields and woodland and is ideal for running our dogs off lead as it is safe for them. The site itself is very spacious with adequate facilities. There is a railway line set down behind the site but it can't be seen and is not particularly audible from the site. The lane on which the site is set can be a bit busy in the rush hour but soon quietens down and isn't particularly noisy at other times. We love this site..for us it is a place to unwind and relax. However, it is a good base to visit Canterbury and other attractions as it is possible to walk to the station from the site or even walk into Canterbury which takes about 50 minutes. Thank you Mrs. Ash for all the times we have enjoyed being at Cobbs Meadow. We will be back again. Bob & Shirley Ellis

july 18 visit

enjoyed this cl - very good location for access to canterbury and other local attractions - we cycled to canterbury from site largely off road , the meadow is lovely and loads of space for us - ehu reliable - entrance does need care but the directions emailed to us by owner were easy to follow and made us aware of entrance before we got there (or went past) - would be pleased to stay again next time in area

Very convenient CL

Just spent two nights on this CL, spacious flat field, well kept short grass, well sheltered. Whilst we would agree with previous comments about some road noise it is not that intrusive and does not detract from the site. It is approx 20-30 min walk to the bus stop into Canterbury, (it is possible to continue and walk into the city, rest of way on footpath) the walk to the bus stop is along the lane with no footpath however we walked this on a couple of occasions without any issues. There is a map of walks displayed on site that may provide other possibilities. The owner provided a very useful information sheet covering the local area. The approach is narrow in places so caution needed, also we had no problem with the site entrance. All in all a very nice CL and will return in the future.

Great location

We stayed at this great CL for 6 nights. Firstly, the 'Elephant in the room' is that if you look at the map you see the railway line directly adjacent the site, however this is NOT a problem as it is down a deep cutting and the trains are not intrusive - we would actually pitch up nearer the railway line than the road next time. We rarely go back to the same place twice but we might here! The site is very close to the North Downs Way and the local station is about 10mins walk down the road - so you can easily access the footpath at various places along it (train out, walk back). Also easy to access Canterbury - train or 2 miles by footpath/track (unlit) or driving, of course. Easy to miss the entrance but we can't offer any improvement on the owners directions - it is about .5 mile from the junction, so combine mileage with the note about the mirror (but there are several others along the way!). We had no problem getting in or out. WiFi seems to be some unsecured BT source - not sure if it is controlled by the owners or not so guess you use at your own risk.

Lovely peaceful site

Spent 5 nights on this CL site and received a warm welcome reception from Christine who was very friendly and helpful. Site close to Canterbury and many seaside resorts. Visited many different places. Even spent the day at Howletts Wild Animal Park (very good day out - recommended). Enjoyed our stay and will visit again.

A large Meadow ....

Stayed here 5 nights in Nov , weather on the damp side , as already said great for Canterbury , Herne bay , Margate and Whitstable , highly recommend the Turner Contemporary in Margate . We would use again as we were visiting family  The site could use a little T L C , however it will proberley look better in the Spring or Summer .

All good at Cobbs Meadow

We stayed three nights at this very peaceful location. We were very impressed with the helpful and warm reception we had from Christine, whom was friendly, helpful, and did all she could to accommodate our needs. We can only give a positive review, of the location, owner and would recommend this CL site to all............we will be returning. The only reason we gave a 4/5 for overall rating was the lack of toilet and difficulty with disposing of our grey water............However this would not prevent us returning as previously mentioned. Thank you again Christine :)  Sarah & Mike

Tight Entrance

On arrival we were met with a very narrow road and a tight entrance to the site. It is not mentioned in the site directory. The site its self had more mole hills and rabbit burrows which made the ground very uneven. We felt the £15 for one night was not justified against the £12.50 for staying two nights or more. We will not be using this site again.

Message from The Club:

Thank you for your review. We regret to hear, however, that you did not feel the quality of the site as up to standard. The mole activity is constantly being dealt with and the site is not considered to be uneven, but we would welcome you to contact us directly if you wish to discuss your experience in further detail.

Ideal for our early channel hop.

Our second stay on this site as it is ideal for access to Dover. Great location for accessing Canterbury, and very peaceful. A bit miffed at the person who made it look like the gate padlocked shut at 5am as it did cause a bit of panic, but all was well. Would highly recommend this site for over night stay's when catching early boats.
