A taste of wild campervanning

A great site to give you a taste of wild campervanning. It's a simple site, a 9 acre unmown field which you share with the free roaming but v friendly sheep, with views over the coast to die for. Plenty of space for everyone & access directly to the coast path. If you want all the luxuries of hook ups and loo's it probably isn't for you, but if you want an experience of putting you solar panel to good use and being off grid this is just the ticket.

Fantastic location for a very simple CL

We booked and paid for two nights here. The first day was utterly idyllic and we greatly enjoyed this very privileged location. We parked on a concrete hard-standing with views west over the sea. We walked to New Quay along the superb coastal path and delighted in a perfect sunset which we shared with the Welsh Mountain sheep on the site. We had no need of the facilities as we were in a motorhome. On arrival we met the owner in his farmhouse who was helpful and had contact in the evening with his younger relative who was very helpful indeed. The only downside for us, and it was nothing to do with the CL itself, was that the expected storm rolled in and we were really buffeted by strong winds and very heavy rain. We decided fairly early on in the morning to go home early as we could see no improvement Overall though a really great CL

Stunning views - we'll be back!

We stayed here for 2 nights during the late May bank holiday, despite being a busy period there was a lot of space for everyone and the views were incredible! Mr Evans was very welcoming and kind, we can't wait to be back!

Breathtaking views

Stayed here for 2 nights end of September. Can only agree with all other reviews. Wonderful place, back to nature. Took us 40 mins to walk the path to Aberaeron, beautiful harbour town, no doubt it could be done in less time but we are in our 70's and not the most agile on our pins. Mr Evans is very friendly and informative. Beautiful sunsets from here.

Stunning views

I think most things have been said about Mr Evans and his 9 acre field. We drove past the entrance the first time as we were coming from New Quay direction. The Club site board is hidden unless you come from the north. No worries, there is a road about 1/4 mile down the hill that goes to the Police Station and a huge car park, quick spin round and we found it 2nd time. We shared the field with 28 sheep and yes they are very efficient at dropping pebbles but its a huge field. The concrete bases are ideal and with a bit of clever parking we got the van wheels right at the edge so we could get the pegs in for the awning. It got very windy and air awnings dont like the wind but the Kampa is very robust. The views are spectacular, Bardsey Island appeared in the distance on a few occasions and the sunsets were beautiful. The rain was very impressive as well! The toilet emptying point is quite some distance from where we put the van but the car came in handy. Its about 300/400 meters away, take water, there is no tap down there. Excellent spot. Our first attempt at 'wild' caravanning. Solar panel kept the battery topped up for the four days we were there.

A little bit of heaven

We booked with mr.evans for a week. He is a lovely genuine person, who loves to chat, and is a font of local knowledge. The entrance to the farm is directly of the road, and is a wide well marked entrance. The hard surface road takes you onto the site, where the views are awesome. This is a basic site with no showers or toilet, but a drinking water tap is there, with a separate tap for rinsing your cassette after emptying. The elsan disposal point is in the bottom corner of the field. There are large level concrete bases available to park on ,which we used with our motorhome. These were bases for military nissan huts now long gone. If you are blessed with good weather, then this site is awesome, the scenery took my breath away. There is a bus service not far from the site entrance. The cardiganshire coastline is yours to view. What a good value site this is. I have only just found it, but i will definately return. Thank you mr. Evans.

Excellent views, but!

We have just spent six nights at this site. As the other reviews state excellent views of the coast. Close to New Quay and Aberaeron so easy to visit by car or along the coastal path. However there are sheep on site which do produce a bi product which when it rains and becomes mulched by car tyres can become rather smelly and messy! You need wellington boots and a small spade to clear the ground for your awning space. The site is high on the cliff side and is exposed to the wind, make sure you have storm straps for the awning!

Fabulous Basic Site

What a lovely 2 nights we had here. Glorious views, friendly farmer, walks a plenty for our dog, plenty to eat within an hours walk. We used our solar panel to charge our gadgets. The elsan tucked in the corner was no problem as we took a bucket of water with us. Hope to come again.

All you want in a CL

Easy access, signposted North & South on the A487.Tarmac drive to CL. Clear signpost on 1st gate. Occupier in farmhouse just to left of 2nd gate. Entrance to 9 acres of CL. Grass field with sheep. Good access roads, and some hard standings (believe to be old foundation slab for army camp). Views out to sea looking the whole of cardigan bay north to the Lleyn peninsular. Coast path adjacent and walkable to Aberaeron and Newquay. Main bus route on A487,say 300 yds. This is what a CL should be, basic facilities, superb views and at reasonable price of £7 per night.

stunning views

This is a very basic site, a farmers field (including sheep) with a tap and a chemical toilet disposal point hidden away in a remote corner. We only stayed one night as we were en route to North Wales but will definitely return. Views and tranquillity to die for! a couple of minutes drive into Aberaeron (best fish and chips and ice cream) which has ample motorhome parking. If you are a keen walker Aberaeron and Newquay are both within walking distance but they are lengthy walks. There is a bus stop outside the site. £7 a night, a bargain!
