Fabulous site

What a fantastic CL. We've just returned from 6 nights in our caravan, and 6 mornings of beautiful sunrises! The previous reviews say it all so I won't reiterate the information, except to say we walked to The Fox and Hounds pub at Christmas Common, and can recommend the excellent food and the warm welcome. Thank you, Ted and Jackie, for your fabulous CL at Cholsey Grange.

Another Fantastic Stay

Well, what can I say that hasn't already been said? Not much really other than that we had another awesome weekend at Cholsey Farm. Did a lovely 6 mile walk straight from site and were then fortunate to catch the firework display on the village green. We ate in the Chiltern Fox pub, just a 5 minute walk from site that evening. It is under new ownership and the food was top class. Highly recommended. Our stay was incredibly peaceful, just the calls of the owls in the evening, perfect We will certainly return

Professionally run site with wonderful views set in glorious countryside.

Stayed here for five nights in late October. The site itself is really well run and Ted the owner is very friendly. It’s unusual to get fully serviced pitches on a CL but certainly an advantage during sometimes wet and cold October. The unobstructed views from the site are wonderful and there are frequently Red Kites flying overhead and even catching prey in the field directly in front of the pitches. We can recommend making use of the laminated walking routes that are available to borrow. If you don’t want to cook then the Fox pub is within walking distance and whilst not cheap the food is of fantastic quality. As usual I’ve made a film of the site which can show it better than I can describe it in words. https://youtu.be/57TNzHpf1nA

Brilliant location

This site is a real gem, easily accessible from M40, full services pitches with beautiful views. Lots of walks and cycling from site. Pitches are roomy and all face the same way so everyone enjoys the view. Hate to the woods walk needs some attention bashed my legs on it! However it is a site we have been to twice and would definitely return to. Barn cafe worth a visit despite the steep hills on route, we were cycling. Book well in advance, easy to do on the web site as it is very popular. Lots of info provided by the owner.

Just what is needed

Great site in a position which gives easy access to Henley on Thames, Marlow and Windsor among others. Very relaxing with fully serviced level pitches. Stayed here for 7 nights. The numerous red kites flying overhead were magnificent. Would highly recommend this CL.

Perfect

We had 9 nights here in September, the site is all we could wish for, fantastic views and serviced pitch, ideal in every way for us. Stunning views, great walks, Sloes from the hegerows ( asked permission) to maintain homemade Gin stocks. Ted and family really nice hosts. Now booking for next year. Bull and Butcher in Turville worth a visit for award winning pies The Chiltern winery and brewery also well worth an evening tour visit at £20 a head. Book in advance to ensure you can experience the tasting session, sadly one of us had to drive though! Laceys farm shop has some great produce and not too far away. Stokenchurch Chinese and Fish and Chip shop served great food and the Small Tesco shop very convenient. In striking distance of Blenheim Palace where we enjoyed the horse trials. Up the M40, the British Motor. Museum at Gaydon worth a visit. Also experienced Diddly Squat Farm Shop, just under an hour away and then onto Bourton on the Water for lunch. Plenty more to see, so looking forward to the next stay already.

One to return to

Stayed here for 3 nights and really not long enough a stay to fully appreciate the area. Ideal spot for visiting Henley on Thames and Legoland. Lovely views from pitches with kites flying overhead and deers seen in adjoining field. Make sure you follow the recommended best route to the site (off M 40) as we went by car into Henley and part of the route the sat nav took us was bit hairy to say the least. Definitely a cl to return to.

Superb Site

We have just returned from a five night stay at Cholsey Grange which must be one of the best sites that we have stayed on. Lovely views and excellent facilities. Good website with booking online and comprehensive information supplied by the owners. All hardstandings with water and electricity to each pitch and fast free Wi-Fi is an added bonus. Highly recommended.

Dog Friendly? 🤔

Stunning scenery and well-equipped pitches. I had enjoyed a previous stay here with my 3 dogs and since then the site has been improved with generous hard-standings for all pitches. There are many walks from the site and laminated maps of various routes are available. It is pheasant country so dogs will mainly have to be walked on a lead. There are no dedicated dog poo bins onsite so that has to be placed with general rubbish. Whilst extolling the virtues of this site, I feel I need to make a comment for other people with dogs who may consider staying here. I expect there will be a counter argument from the site owner but, as a dog owner, I would want to know others’ experiences when reading a review. I had explained that I had 3 dogs that I was bringing with me and this was accepted despite the apparent 2 dog rule. One of my dogs barked four times during our 2 night stay and each time was quickly quietened. My other 2 dogs didn’t bark. After the 2nd bark (the day after I’d arrived) I received a text asking me to keep them quiet and reminding me that they don’t usually allow 3 dogs on a pitch. This did make me feel quite uncomfortable for the rest of my stay - particularly when 2 horse boxes parked up for the day directly in front of my caravan. I spent the day with the blinds pulled down to avoid any upset. FYI I am concerned to be a responsible dog owner and appreciate that others do not want to hear my dogs. My young dog has a “Quiet” command which she quickly responds to when necessary, although I barely needed it during my stay. I would suggest, if you have more than two dogs and there is a chance that they may bark more than once during your stay, you may need to carefully consider if this is the site for you.

Fabulous location - We'll be back

This was our first visit to the site and we were really impressed with everything. The owners provide really clear instructions on booking, payment and directions to the site. The site is very easy to find and Tim provides guidance on negotiating the roads leading to the pitches. The pitches are nicely laid out, with plenty of privacy. The views overlooking the valley are stunning, and we spent ages just watching the wildlife. It is peaceful as well, so you are guaranteed not to be woken by traffic. There are plenty of walks from the site, and Tim provides printed guides as well. This site is local is local to us, so we know its ideal to get to London, Oxford and further afield quickly as you are only a couple of miles from the M40. As per the title, We'll be back as we enjoyed it so much.
