First visit……will be back

Ok so the lane is a little rough, so take it slowly….round to the corner to the site and WOW ! Great welcome from Ted, he enthused about what we could do whilst staying just to make sure we had everything we needed. Superb pitch facing across the valley and so peaceful. Level pitches which drain well ( yes it rained ). Lovely to see the horses and the red kites even if they did leave until the departure day before flying around us. I’m not a great walker, but it’s obvious that there is wonderful countryside to explore on foot…….mapped routes are provided . Thank you Ted……we will be back some day.

Our stay

We have just on a fantastic stay at this CL site. There are lots of lovely walks from the site and plenty of lovely places to visit which are close by. From when we booked to when we arrived the service was excellent. We shall be returning.

Great little site

Just returned from a short stay. Great introduction to CL sites and one we will repeat. Just starting out caravaning so getting a feel for types of site we like. If every one was like this then we’d be spoilt for choice but I know that they can’t all be as good as this. Thanks Ted for your warm welcome and your messages etc which made access and our stay trouble free. Didn’t explore as much as we would like due to child minding for our local Son but the walks off site are perfect for our spaniels and the view from the van and the facilities made it the perfect stay. Wish there was a list of CL’s produced by the Club with serviced pitches. Thanks Ted for the link to the list that you have helped compile. We’ll be back. Mark & Lesley

Idyllic views with Red Kites soaring above

We stayed on this site with friends and the booking process for two adjacent pitches could not have been easier. The welcome and communication throughout was warm and efficient. The views are amazing even on a dull and misty day making the stay very relaxing. We were visited regularly by the farm’s Guinea Fowl so funny to watch and hear and even one day by their peacock who added to the fun chasing one of the fowl. There were also horses and sheep in the fields around the CL. Overhead we saw Red Kites (birds) soaring circling and swooping every day, sometimes almost caravan height so the view of their colouring was great. We visited Hughenden Manor, Hellfire Caves and West Wycombe estate going in to the village including The Apple Orchard shop and tea room (well worth a visit), we also visited Greys Court and Nuffield Place and ended our short break on the Chinnor and Risborough Railway having a ploughman’s lunch on a steam train. There were other places we didn’t get round to. I always read reviews before booking a site so will mention two slight negatives - there is a narrow access road which Jackie and Ted deal with by getting you to call ahead but also a dip which needs careful negotiation to avoid bottoming out. And the CDP is a short walk away from the pitches at the farmyard , they provide a wheelbarrow but anyone with mobility issues or a bad back might find this a set back. In every other aspect I’d recommend this CL wholeheartedly. Thank you Cholsey Grange for a wonderful stay,

One of the best CLs we have been to

It is very hard to find any faults with this CL. Our pitch (No.1) was flat and hard standing and far larger that many other CLs with hard standings. The EHU, water tap and drainage are all there on each pitch. The electric is metered on the EHU bollard but the meter is easily read so that a check can be kept on usage if desired. Communication from the CL is excellent, particularly when booking and again, a few days before a visit. Nothing is left to guesswork. The CL has fantastic views and there is an abundance of wildlife. Red kites are one of the commonest birds with hardly a moment passing when at least one can be seen. They frequently fly very low over the site and perch on the fence only a few feet away. Pheasants are always strutting about. There is also an abundance of deer which can often be seen in the lower fields although they do venture up to the CL some nights. On one evening alone I counted 75+. There are also a few hares around. Wildlife aside there are the horses and rare breed sheep along with guinea fowl and a peacock that sometimes venture down to the site. Access from the M4, two miles away, is very easy and, although the private lane to the CL is narrow, Ted always makes sure it is clear when you arrive and leave. The site has two electric security gates to pass through but these cause no problem. If I were to be a bit picky, the CDP is, perhaps, a little further away from the actual CL than is usual, due to drainage requirements, but a two-wheel barrow is provided to make it easier so not much more of a chore than usual. The second and last "negative" is that the final 100 yards to the CL was a bit rutted when we were there but this is actively being addressed so perhaps this should be ignored. All in all, a cracking site. Thankyou Ted and Jackie.

Had a great Sunday lunch at the Chiltern fox pub down the road and plenty of lovely walks to help relax during our stay . Great places to visit around the area .My words cannot do this site justice . Red Kite Heaven

There is a lot going for the site. Security, kept in good order, serviced pitches, scenery etc. We were on pitch 5 which has quite a drop off so levelling ramps are a definite. There are no toilets or showers. Be aware that electric is metered, daily allowance then payment starts, our 4 nights cost us £3.50 so not bad at all. Sat nav brought us straight to the site. Plenty of walks from the site and lots of POI in the local area. Shopping and filling stations in abundance in High Wycombe.

What a Lovely Site

All the other reviewers are right about this site - so lovely and peaceful with great views of the countryside. It's a real gem this one, and hard to find anything that could be improved upon. If you love walking, then this is a great spot as there are paths in all directions and the scenery is super. If you want to eat out, then the pub round the corner is great too. Not cheap, but good food and beer with very friendly service.
