Well run, quiet site

I can't really add to the previous reviews. But I wanted to confirm what a lovely peaceful, well run site this is. Tony and his wife have been here many years, and it shows in the attention to detail and knowledge of caravaners. They are extremely welcoming and keep the site in great condition. It's North Wales so there are loads of places to go within a reasonable distance, whether it's walking, shopping, a beach or culture that you want. We have booked to go again because it suits us perfectly.

An Oasis Of Tranquillity.

This CL has many positives, but the tranquillity it offers has to be the outstanding feature. Combine this with fully serviced hardstanding pitches, WiFi, secure gated access and a very warm welcome and you are to a winner. However there are a few negatives, the pitches are not the largest you will come across and you will need levelling blocks on most of them, one or two being very uneven. They could also do with a bit of TLC as grass is encroaching reducing the size and making them look untidy. The only other negative is that the Elsan waste disposal needs a bit of work. But do not let the negatives put you off as they are far outweighed by the positives.

Little Gem of a place

We are staying here for 2 nights to meet up with friends in North Wales. This place is perfect to relax, so quiet and peaceful ! We were met by by Tony who is su h a lovely gentleman. There is a large enclosed field next to the CL, for dogs to run safely and a bin on the gate. Well thought out. Clean spacious pitches. When we come up next year will definitely use again, and will highly recommend. Thank you Tony and Lilian for a lovely stay. Will definitely stay longer next time. Jayne, Tony and Fonzy

Take a deep breath and relax..

My wife and i stayed here for 3 nights in June and it was so peaceful and friendly - a perfect contrast to the Kings of Leon concert we attended at the Racecourse stadium in Wrecsam on the Sunday night. The pitches are spacious and level and serviced with fresh water and metered electricity - you make a note of the opening and closing readings and put your payment in an envelope when you leave (like an honesty box). Disposal points for toilet and grey water no more than 75m away, whichever pitch you use. Access to the site is secure, with 2 gates, the inner of which is keypad controlled so for those concerned about the van getting stolen, worry not! The scenery in the area is beautiful and the site is well placed for visiting Liverpool/ Wirral or for nipping across to Cheshire (as we did) to visit friends. The Horseshoe Pass isn't far and we chose this direction back to South Wales - so glad we did, the route, and Llangollen in particular was stunning. I can't say enough about the owner, Tony Pearce. So helpful, kind and accommodating. If you want a beautiful, quiet location with a warm welcome in this part of North Wales, look no further than Chapel House CL Site.

Lovely CL

We spent 9 nights here over Easter. Such a lovely CL, really easy to find and tucked away at the end of a no through road means it is so tranquil and peaceful. Surrounded by fields of sheep and lambs with nothing to disturb your peace but nature. The pitches are a good size, each with its own water tap and grey waste disposal. Wifi on a CL was a lovely surprise too. The surrounding area has lots to see and do - we mainly stayed local - the Raven Inn is a lovely pub in Llanarmon which is worth booking a table for particularly at busy times. As mentioned by other reviewers Tony is very welcoming, friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend this CL.

Another beautiful stay at Chapel House

Just come back from a glorious Easter weekend at Chapel House. This site never fails to amaze always a warm welcome, beautiful pitches and well kept. Despite having been here numerous times before we always manage to find a new place within easy distance to go walking. Plenty of things to do in the local area would definitely recommend.

Welcoming CL

We have just spent 8 nights at this lovely CL. Sadly the weather was very wet during our stay, and we even had some snow, but it is a secure and exceptionally clean fully serviced site. Tony and Lillian couldn't have been more welcoming, and even were able to accommodate us a day early due to high winds forecast the day we had booked to arrive. We have a 8m long twin axle caravan and 2 of the 6 hardstanding pitches available are suitable. The other guests were so friendly on arrival and felt like a small community. Access is via a long lane, but the visibility is excellent and turning into the site straight forward. Please note we followed the CL directions on the club site carefully. Google will want you to come north west from Wrexham and although doable, it is far more stress free following the route provided. One thing to watch out for is if the neighbour has parked on the lane outside the gate when leaving the site with your caravan. We did it fine, but needs extra care. We visited Erddig and Chirk Castle during our stay as well as the lovely market town of Mold. Wrexham 8 miles away has all the shopping you would expect from this new city. A few miles north east of the site on the way to Mold is a wonderful farm shop called Swans Farm Shop which is open Thursday to Saturday if you have chance to visit offering excellent local produce.

A return visit to our home from home!

We've just spent a 4 week return visit at Chapel House, having last visited about a year ago. Tony and Lillian make everyone so welcome, and to us it feels like a home from home. Having a fully serviced pitch is wonderful, and Tony took care to ensure that, even in the snow and freezing conditions, we had water flowing. The site is very peaceful with lots of wildlife. We put up our bird feeder and as well as the usual birds we had three great spotted woodpeckers, nuthatches, about 7 long tailed tits, coal tits, jays, buzzards and wrens - and we heard the owls every night. 18 different species in all! As I work from the van 3 days a week I need decent wifi, and had no problems at all getting and staying connected. We like to sightsee, but were a little hampered by the weather this time but we still managed to get out and about. We visited the National Trust properties of Chirk Castle and Erddig, both quite close, and the Christmas decorations at Erddig were wonderful. We also enjoyed a day out at Port Sunlight on the Wirral, which is a village of lovely houses and the excellent Lady Lever Art Gallery and Museum. Another good day out at Ruthin, walking in the castle grounds, visiting St Peters Square and Church, and taking part in the history walk which was recommended by two lovely local ladies we bumped into and who were so proud of their town. A little further afield, we visited the massive Conwy Castle and had a lovely trip on the Welsh Highland Railway Winter Wanderer. For shopping we recommend Broughton shopping centre which has loads of shops, a Tesco and also a cinema & restaurants, and Tweedmills Shopping Outlet for the odd bargain. We had a wonderful meal at Plas Hafod, which is highly recommended for both service and quality of the food. We will be returning to this special place where we feel so at home - and we still didn't get to see Denbigh Castle due to the weather! But sun, rain or snow, we love it here!

If you want peace and quiet which is superb for dogs, this is the one.

We returned to this CL for a second time. It can be quite difficult to find so suggest following What3Words. Directions on page are good, however you need to drive down a narrow lane signposted 'dead end' to reach the site. A lovely welcome from the owners Tony & Lillian, who are so friendly and have led very interesting lives. The site is well mown and kept. All of the pitches are hardstanding and serviced with drinking water, grey waste and 16amp electricity. Elsan point is immaculately clean. Recycling and waste area. The absolute bonus for us was the fully enclosed, fenced, very large dog field. My dogs loved this area for exercising and playing. The surrounding countryside is stunning with plenty of walking opportunities. Public footpath runs alongside the site. If staying here you must visit the Raven Inn, Ffordd Rhiw Ial, Llanarmon-yn-Ial, Ruthin CH7 4QE. A community run pub serving gorgeous food. We will definately be returning to this beautiful site. We arrived as strangers and left feeling part of the family.

Great

Just spent 10 nights at this great little site which offers good sized hard standing pitches all serviced with electric, fresh and waste water so luxury on a CL.very easy to find following instructions given. Your host Tony is a very knowledgeable and interesting man to talk to you whenever you see him, but you are left alone if that's your preference, ideal. Good field for walking the dogs as well as quiet lanes, truly cannot fault the place. Would have no hesitation in returning if in the area. Thanks John, Irena, Chloe and Blue.
