What A Find

Just returned from 7 nights here and what a lovely place it is, from the ease of getting here to the wonderful greeting by Tony and first class facilities, electric ,water and waste all on tap and hard standings with room for awning and car. Some lovely local walks and places to visit. We were on our own for the whole week which is a first for us, still Tony & Lillian kept us up to date with our little chats. Great little CL which we no doubt will come back to at some time, highly recommend this site.

A place you will come back to

You will get the warmest welcome from Tony and Lilian that settles you down after even the shortest of drives , if help is needed Tony is the one to sort you out . Peace and quiet is guaranteed on these spacious fully serviced pitches. For the Geo cachers out there , the area has an abundance of challenging caches on lovely circular walks (not directly from the site but a short drive away) .

Return trip

Our four night return to Chapel House after some months was as ever an excellent break. Tony and Lillian are the friendliest CL owners we have ever met, nothing is too much trouble. The site is peaceful, easily accessed yet secure and well kept. The fees (recently increased to £18 due to the inevitable rising costs) are very reasonable for a hard standing serviced pitch, water, waste and electricity along with free wifi. Relatively close to both Mold and Wrexham, and not too far from Chester, shopping and pubs/restaurants are not too far away along with an excellent chippy and Chinese takeaway in the vicinity, (Tony will happily direct you to either). We were surprised there were not more outfits on site when we were there. Note, like many CLs these days you need green toilet fluid. An excellent CL in an area of beautiful countryside yet not far from many attractions. We can highly recommend this cL and will be back before long!

Friendly Site

This site is relaxed, very friendly, helpful and informative of local attractions. Stayed for 2 nights, wish it was longer. We will be putting on our 'revisit' list.

Our Happy Place

Just returned from a long weekend at Chapel Farm which is a true delight. Tony and Lillian have become firm friends and nothing is too much trouble for them. Fully serviced pitches and great satellite broadband but forget mobile phone service as there is precious little coverage.

A Wonderful Site

A gem of a CL site with fully-serviced pitches, a dog-walking field where dogs can be let of the lead, easy to reach but seemingly in the middle of nowhere and surrounded by astounding scenery. However, the icing on the cake has to be the site owner, Tony Pearce, who is an absolute star. Other reviews have mentioned his and Lillian’s friendliness and helpfulness, but I just cannot praise him too highly! We had trouble with our motorhome parking brakes, which I felt able to tackle but didn’t have any tools or parts with me. Absolutely nothing was too much trouble for Tony who not only lent me all the tools I could possibly want but willingly ran me to Wrexham to get the parts I needed. He’s a very interesting man who delights in welcoming his visitors without being ‘in their faces’. I’m sure we’ll visit here again.

Didn't want to leave!

We stayed at Chapel House for 3 weeks, and really didn't want to leave! Tony and Lillian are a lovely couple and make you feel so welcome, without being intrusive. They were very helpful with advice on where to visit, where to get gas refills and so much more. The site is very secure with padlocked farm gates, and being a serviced pitch it makes life so much easier. Pitches are spacious with lots of room between you and the neighbours! We visited so many places - Valle Crucis Abbey, Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, Horseshoe Pass, walks in Loggerheads Country Park and to Moel Famau, and visits to a number of Historic Houses Association sites - if you belong to this and CADW / English Heritage, you're made! We out up a bird feeder and saw coal, blue, and great tits, woodpeckers, greenfinches, chaffinches, nuthatches, jays and buzzards(even one with a kill) - and the highlight was standing outside the tent in the evening, listening to the Tawny and Little Owls, and then a Tawny flew past right in front of me. Magical! I was working from home in the caravan on some days, and the wifi was excellent Absolutely fantastic and we already have plans to return. Thank you Tony and Lillian and Chapel House - we miss you already!! Liz and Dave

A little friendly gem

Our second visit to this friendly CL. A warm welcome is always assured from Tony and bends over backwards to help and assist. Never in your face but always there if needed. There is a useful dog walking field adjacent to the site and plenty of walks direct from there. The only downside is that some of the adjacent public footpaths have been ‘closed’ unofficially by farmers. nothing to do with COVID just because they don’t want the paths across their land. Apart from that a lovely site either all pitches being fully serviced. Definitely value for money.

Marvellous CL

Another brilliant stay with Tony & Lillian who are fabulous hosts. Wide , fully serviced pitches in a tranquil location but within easy reach of a number of north Wales towns for shopping etc. Definitely our favourite go to site B, J & D

One of the best

A very warm welcome from Tony when you arrive at Chapel House. Lovely location and very well maintained. Great dog field and loads of space between each van. Absolutely spot on for walkers or mountain bike users etc. Only minutes from Horseshoe Pass into Llangollen, 10 minutes to Moel Famau, from which we have just returned having a great day. Loads of shops, takeaways etc etc in Mold, again less than 10 minutes. Ok, the pitch you are in won’t have the most fantastic views, but walk to the site gate, and you could be anywhere, with absolutely stunning scenery. Also if you a car booter, Chirk car boot (huge) only 20-25 minutes away
