Nice site but……

Despite the many rave reviews in the past, this site is not for us. The site caters primarily for owners of stored caravans, of which there are dozens which tend to dominate the view from the lower pitches. Caravans are moved from storage onto pitches for the owners, but often stand unoccupied for days on end, which limits the pitch choice for touring members. Of the six caravans on site during most of our stay, we were the only touring outfit. The site’s web entry states nightly rate of £14, but although we only have a two berth caravan and no awning, dogs etc we were charged £18. Add to that metered electricity and for an autumn stay that was for us another £5 a day. Coins are needed for the meter, which in an age where few transactions are done with cash any more, it was a pain to try and ensure we had enough coins. I have no problem with metered electric but would much prefer a before and after reading and just pay what is due at the end. The serviced pitches are great but on balance we tend not to return to sites where the conditions of the exemption certificate are not adhered to.

best CL

I love this place. Been here several times in the best but returned after a 4 year break. What a beautifully located CL. The views are outstanding. after the initial welcome through the working courtyard you are greeted with the best CL i have stayed on. Well kept which is improved yearly. the pitches are level and all have their own drainage, water and electric meters which you pay as you go for. But very reasonable and actually think it is an excellent idea. The site has a shower room, separate toilet and laundry room which are all very reasonable. The site is approx 10 minute drive from Saundersfoot and 155 minutes from Tenby. I wouldn't stay any where else when visiting this area..

very friendly site

Stayed for six nights in June one of the most friendly sites we have ever stayed on the pitches are all fully serviced and have superb uninterrupted views, there is a static van site down the road (10min walk) which has a bar and restaurant which are very nice. All in all we enjoyed it and will certainly return.

BETTER STILL THIS YEAR

Stayed at this lovely CL in June this year, fully serviced facilities now up and running, with a separate electricity meter to each pitch, power very sensibly priced. My comments of last year regarding pressure on facilities now somewhat negated, as there is no waste to dispose of we used our own shower. Have booked for later this year and 2016.

A Wonderful CL

Stayed for two weeks, field is slightly sloping at the bottom but quite level higher up, work in progress to make all the pitches fully serviced. Views from the CL are fantastic. Facilities can be under pressure at times as there is only one shower and wc. Access is fairly easy and the site is well positioned to explore all of Pembrokeshire. The owners are very friendly and accomodating, we will certainly return.

So peaceful

We are still here as I write this and a bit hesitant to put anything because its so nice.  There is a five site for CC members but another small field about 100 yards away for non members.  There are also two hard standings.  Though not perfectly level we just put blocks under one wheel and then we were ok.  Water and electric at each pitch and presently putting in grey water waste and TV Aerial connection.  We didn't need the TV aerial as ours worked  perfectly with over 149 channels with our own aerial with no problem at all. Grass nice and short and no clippings which we like.  Views are beautiful and so quiet you could hear that pin drop.  We didn't use the toilet or shower as they are a bit too far away from us, we both have disabilities issues, but did look in and they seemed nice and clean with a big plastic bench in the shower room well away from the water. You need 50p for the shower.  The laundry has two washers and one drier but we didn't use them.  Not sure how only one toilet and shower would work if they are full up. Lovely friendly family own and run the site which is kept very neat and tidy.  They also store caravans and many people who store here stay here.  They site your van for you then take it back again. LocalPlacesOfInterest is great and you are not far from the seaside towns.  Disappointed with Milford Haven and Haverfordwest, lovely harbours but towns both run down.  We ate out at too many places to list and all were quite good.  Cheapest diesel was on the main road between Saundersfoot and Tenby on the right hand side at £133.9 whereas where we live its £138.9. Would definitely stay here again if we were this way in the future.

Happy CL

Planned to stay here 1 night and ended up staying 3.  What a delightful well kept site.  Not just the manicured lawns and general tidyness we're pleasing but also the peaceful setting and far reaching views.  Shower, laundrette and storage facility were an added bonus given that the CL only charged £10 per night for pitch and electric hook up.  We stayed on a level hard standing but 3 of the 4 grass pitches were gently sloping.  The next door caravan park boasted a bar, restaurant and swimming pool with spa.  All open to the public.  An ideal location to base yourself to explore S Pembrokeshire but because it's underpriced you need to book in advance in Jul & Aug.
