Ease of arrival/welcome

So relaxing

Our first time to Castle Hill and will NOT be our last. Very welcoming hosts, friendly and relaxed with no rules which is our perfect kind of site. The field is long and the grass  is cut regularly and collected, with little bays for each caravan. No one is near to each other so there is plenty of space. Not sure where the views of the hills are as a previous reviewer mentioned as all you are looking at is a field with sheep and you are in a kind of dip with trees all around.  We think the site is very central to many places of interest and certainly a haven for walkers like us, the walk to the top of the Mynd starting at Carding Mill valley in Church Stretton is worth the climb.  Do look in the clear plastic tub near the bins as it is filled with walks and places of interest. Shropshire is so beautiful and green at this time of year. We ate out 3 times locally, had a wonderful meal at the Glass & Bottle at Picklescott also the second best was the Green Dragon at Little Stretton, an ok one was the Horseshoes at Dorrington when the very friendly hostess asked if the meal was ok I told her it was cold and the chicken chewy, my partners gammon was also a little chewy, she offered to change it but I couldn't be bothered to wait for another meal, when we went to pay they had knocked off my meal even though I ate it all, which is very good service, so maybe this is a bit on and off but would still recommend it as its a lovely pub on the inside. Avoid the take-away Chinese called the New Ruby in Church Strettton, dreadful.
