A lovely little hidden gem of a site, and quiet and peaceful, plenty to see and do nearby. Dog, Child and Bike friendly. Easy access to major trunk roads for travelling East or West. Andy and Debs the owners are very friendly and most helpful.
We are so looking forward to our next visit in 2016.
The Grinstead Clan.
Another smashing break at,Andy and Debs lovely CL. Understand Andy has plans to raise the level of the waste emptying sometime this year to make it a bit easier for us less agile folk. But even so you won't be disappointed with what is a terrific site run by a lovely couple in a great location. *****
Booked May Day Bank Holiday weekend arriving Friday and departing Monday. Site is everything and more that one would expect from a well run CL and we were made very welcome. Thank-you Andrew and Debs, we will return.
We had 5 days here in October and were thoroughly impressed. The field is beautifully maintained and is virtually flat. All pitching areas not only have their own electric hook up but also their own tap so if you have a mains water hook up kit then make sure you take it!! Very peaceful site being out of the way but only about 10 minute drive from Lyme. Andy is a thoroughly nice guy too! We highly recommend this CL if you're looking in the area.
Visited this site again for 5 days (3rd visit this year) and had a wonderful relaxing time in perfect surroundings. This is beginning to be our home from home site and we cannot recommend it enough. Thank you Andy and Debs, see you in the Spring.
You really should avoid this CL as it’s way too quiet! I mean why would you want to stay at a site where the only sound at night is the Owls hooting? The pitches are too flat so there’s no enjoyment to be had from trying to level your van with numerous pieces of timber or bricks. And what’s with the short cut grass with no clippings to drag into your van? Where has the fun gone from CL caravanning? You won’t like the surroundings either; Lyme Regis has no amusement arcades, tacky gift shops or garish shop fronts. And if you enjoy walking in the countryside then look elsewhere as those rolling green hills and cliff top views are not worth the pain that’s inflicted on your legs and feet. So do yourself a favour and stay well clear. As for myself would I return? Well I don’t mind roughing it!
Returned from our 2nd visit to this fabulous site on 9th September and had 8 glorious days here. As usual Andy and Debs were on hand if required or if you needed any info. Weather fantastic and Lyme Regis also had their "Guitars on the Beach" weekend. We hope to spend a few more days here before the end of October as we cannot rate this C.L highly enough, home from home.
Just spent 5 nights at this site.
Made very welcome by Andy who gave us all the information we required and checked to see if all was well.
Very impressed just how much space we had and with our own water supply. Ideally placed for trips down to the coast. If planning to walk to Lyme Regis remember if you go down you have to come back up. We have a motorhome but were able to visit the coast and parked easily at West Bay and Charmouth.
The extensive woodland by the side of the site provides ideal walking opportunities especially if you have a dog. If you want a quiet site this is one for you.
We will certainly visit again.
We were met on arrival by Andy the owner who was most welcoming and advised us to pitch on any one of the available pitches. These were well spread out with electric and water at each pitch that had been well maintained and neatly cut. We were there for 6 nights and the site is extremely quiet so we managed to totally relax when on site. There is a bridleway and woods 20 yards up the road so was ideal for us to walk the dog.
The main A35 was a few minutes drive away so touring the local area was easy. This site is just what C.L's should be like with the added advantage of being run by a great guy. Many thanks Andy for a great stay.
We have just spent eight nights staying on this great C.L. Received a lovely welcome from Andy and we can only endorse all his other excellent reviews. We woke up every morning to the misty sunrise across his field of sheep - beautiful! With so many super places to visit nearby there is something for everyone. If you like gardens you must visit the charming Burrow Farm Gardens at Dalwood, nr. Axminster which Mary Benger has created since 1959 - lovely coffee and cake too! If you love birds the Axe estuary is a must either from the bird hides or on the tram to Colyford. We do hope to stay at Carnbrae again one day.
