Outstanding CL

We stayed at this CL about ten years ago and have been unable to get in on several other occasions when we've tried. We were so pleased to be able to stay for two nights again recently. It really is a gem. The scenery is quite breathtaking especially as the tops of the mountains were covered with snow. We cycled from the site in both directions and up over the Beacons to Pontsticill along the Taff Trail. We had the added benefit of spotting an otter swimming in the Canal one evening as well as a swan sitting on seven eggs just across from our motorhome, Red kites now often circle overhead. So, its a wildlife haven. It was a small bother trying to pay for our stay. We were more concerned about it than the owners and we did get to see them before we left. I don't think the bell works! We are looking forward to returning very soon.

Great CL

Views, walks, cycle routes, access, toilet/shower all great. Friendly helpful owner. Improved by recent addition of 1 gravel hardstanding pitch. We paid £19pn. Minor point of a little background noise from A40 across valley but not intrusive. Highly recommended.

Best CL ever

There are 15 reviews before this one they probably tell you everything that you need to know. So I won't mention the view, the washblock or the canal towpath walking. But I will say that I have never stayed on a better CL, it is worthy of 10 stars out of 5 and if you are ready to rough it smoothly then this may be for you.

Lovely site

Recently stayed at this beautiful site with amazing views .Very peaceful and perfect for walking or cycling along the canal or just sitting and watching the boats.Plenty of birds to watch including families of swans on the Canal. The site has a very clean toilet block .The only criticism is that the dog who roams around from the marina poos on the CL and we cleared up after it on a couple of occasions.

Brilliant!

The first time we've stayed at this CL, but we hope it won't be the last, it was much better that we could ever have hoped for. Lovely clean tidy site, amazing views, 1st class toilet block and wonderful being by the side of the canal, a joy watching the swans, herons etc etc. One of the top sites on our list

BEST CL SITE IN BRECON. Stayed here August 9th-11th 2018 in a our Motorhome

The site facilities are very clean and tidy. Our first stay at this site was lovely, and can’t wait to visit again. As we like cycling & walking this site is just right for us. A short walk from our pitch onto the Brecon canal towpath where you can walk or cycling to Brecon town or go other direction for Taly bont, the views and surrounding area are breaktaking. You wouldn’t be disappointed staying at this site.👌😀

Just lovely

Firstly can I begin by saying that the photograph used here does not do the area justice and I wish they would change it! We visited last year and I didn't know what to expect as I had never been to this area before. I thought it was stunning, yes the pitches themselves are basic but there is everything one needs to have a really restful enjoyable holiday. The dog was not a problem, in fact he's fearful of people really and totally harmless. A lovely toilet and shower block, very clean. A very handy place to stay too, easy for Brecon, a lovely little town. Would I return? Yes, definitely.

Best CL toilet and shower block we have seen.

Unbeatable scenery. Views of canal, hills, farmland and brecon mountain tops. It's a lovely flat walk into Brecon along the canal, (About an hours stroll). 30 mins in opposite direction on the canal to a lovely pub that has a garden backing onto the canal. The site was easy to find and access was good. As others have commented, the owners are not forthcoming on greeting you apon arrival. However this is really not a problem as the pitches are easy to find and relatively clearly laid out. (The grass is roughly cut and pitches were wet, and the ground is slightly uneven, this didn't bother us but is worth mentioning just incase your expecting tightly mowed, perfectly level pitches). Water is opposite the pitches and bin area etc is oposited toilet block which is clearly marked. We really enjoyed our 4 nights at this site and if it was a little closer to home we would definitely make it a regular site to visit. The reason for giving the site 4 out of 5 is because you can here a constant humming noise from the A40, which we did adjust to but without this the site would be perfect. And our only other slight grumble was that the resident collie that appears to wander loose around the site raided our awning at least 3 times. So beware, don't leave your bin in your awning unless you don't mind picking your rubbish up from the floor when you return from a day out. Again we didn't really mind that much and soon learnt to put the bin in the caravan. Really lovely site that is worth a visit. Weekends seem to get booked up quick so well worth booking in advanced.

Good spot

We stayed a couple of days here in our Motorhome. Lovely views from the site and handily placed for the Brecons. The grass was longish, but the weather was wet so the grass protected the ground and was not a problem. The new toilet block is very nice but we tend to use our onboard facilities so we didn't fully test it out. The pitches are arranged above an access road and have a gentle slope so leveling blocks are required if you have a motorhome. Would return again.

A beautiful spot

This is a cracking little CL which we stayed on whilst exploring the local area. It's very tranquil, located right on the canal, and the views to Pen-y-Fan and the Brecon Beacons are amazing. There is a new toilet and shower block now, which was really nice. I believe one can walk to the pub in llanfrynach along the canal, but we stayed on site to eat. The grass was quite long (ref previous review0 but we didn't find it a problem as it was dry. Maybe it would be in the wet.
