Great CL

Accessed via a quiet single track road, with a couple of passing spots, but luckily managed to sneak in and out with the caravan without meeting anyone, phew. Once on the site there's plenty of room. Large hardstanding with grass and picnic bench between pitches. Our neighbour had a large awning and cleverly pitched sideways so they could make the most of the views. I had noted a previous review in which rubbish was mentioned. I found the bins were full, especially the general rubbish and I noted the dog field was overgrown. So I sent a simple polite email to Rebecca, who promptly arranged for these matters to be sorted. I guess if they don't visit regularly, they don't know of issues unless made aware. For info, the noisy bikes heard by previous reviewer were actually quad bikes used by the shepherds to help move their sheep about. The wet rooms were fine. Water and ehu were fine, make sure you have plenty of hose length (ooer). Didn't use WiFi as not aware it was available, until too late, but the mobile signal was great anyway. Blue lagoon and cliffs well worth a visit - note car park is £5 however long you stay. St David's is worth a visit, park in the car park near the tourist info office if you don't want to go round the town trying to find somewhere else to park. The Bishop's pub was good for a dinner and popular - near to the Cathedral. Overall a lovely quiet site with good amenities

Very disappointing.

First the positives. As others have said, the pitch sizes are really spacious with water on each and plenty of space in between. The views are pleasing, you are able to see the sea in the distance from some. The dog field was excellent for us as our dog has little recall so couldn't always run free,. He loved it. There are some lovely harbour's close by with amazing walks and stunning views. St. David's, apparently the smallest city in the United Kingdom (population), is also worth a visit, lovely ice cream shop with over 20 choices. The negatives We were there for just under a week and we didn't see a soul other than another couple that were there for two days. The owners never once came to clean the showers, toilets, empty the bins, which were overflowing and smelly, or even to make sure everything was alright after a storm, or even just to say hello! The shower floor was always very wet and a bit smelly with no form of heating which was needed this year in April There is CCTV but this isn't any help if someone breaks into you unit with no one around, we felt quite isolated and we were worried for our unit when we went out. There were people on a quadbike racing and screaming in the next field when we arrived, but this soon stopped. Maybe the owners clean the facilities when more people are there but I don't come away to clean toilets but then I suppose they have the money beforehand so they don't need to bother.

A great CL in a great location

We stayed at Cae Pen -Y-Mynydd CL for 3 nights in April 20224. The site is on a working farm south of Fishguard and near the small village of Castlemorris. This is a fantastic CL and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The 5 pitches are all hardstanding and huge with their own water supply and stunning views across the Pembrokeshire countryside. There are 2 toilet/shower wet rooms which are also spacious and were always scrupulously clean. There is also a laundry room. We found the Wifi to be excellent (compared to the speeds we get at home). Access from Castlemorris is up a short stretch of single track road (about 1 mile) but there are several passing places and we never encountered any issues. Cae Pen-Y-Mynydd is a great base for visiting the coast and St Davids and the discovery of a fantastic plant nursery in St Davids meant we returned home with a crate full of unusual garden plants. One of the very best CLs we have stayed on and thoroughly recommended.

Brilliant!

As near perfect a CL as you can have - I can confirm all previous review comments are accurate! If I’d have stayed here before July, it would have got my vote for best CL in Wales and the rest of the UK!

Super rural CL

Spent two weeks at this site at the beginning of September and being blessed with wonderful weather we could fully appreciated the stunning location. The site has been set up with great thought - large pitches, fully serviced and located so all users can set themselves up to fully take in the views across the valley to the Presilli hills. Facilities are excellent - two toilet/wet rooms plus laundry room. If your are a dog owner the added fenced off dog walk is a real bonus. This is a rural site so you do need to plan shopping etc for us this was a small inconvenience though when rewarded with such sights as a pair of Goshawks feeding in the field in front of our van. Full marks to the owners for doing their research prior to setting up the CL. Do take note of the other comments re rock pegs and club hammer if you want to put an awning up.

5* views on a 5* site

This is a lovely site with amazing views from any of the 5 large, fully serviced pitches. The free wifi is excellent & the addition of your own picnic table & bench a lovely touch. There are 2 modern, individual shower rooms complete with toilet & wash hand basin which were fully tiled. We didn't actually use them although they did look lovely & clean. There is also a laundry room with a washer, separate dryer & sink which again was modern & clean. This is a super adult only CL in a great location for discovering north Pembrokeshire & all it has to offer.

Brilliant CL

We stayed here over the late May BH weekend. Booking was efficient and completed via phone and email. A 50% deposit is required paid via BACS. The last half mile of the suggested route is single track although very quiet. Access is through two gates which we found straight forward with ample space (our caravan is 7.5 mtrs long). The site is hard standing and spacious. Water and 16A EHU to each pitch. The toilet block is new and consists of two spacious wet rooms each with a toilet, shower and sink - lovely. The facilities were well maintained during our stay. The views to the West are beautiful and far reaching. At £25 per night including electric, this CL is at the upper limit of what we would pay although thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return.

Great Stay at a Well thought out CL

We stayed for 9 nights, the CL has everything you need, water & waste on a large hard standing pitch, a grassed area for each pitch with picnic bench, secure dog exercise area, 2 great shower rooms, laundry, fabulous views in a peaceful rural location. There is also a good free wifi connection and our mobile and tv reception were great. The site is in a good location to visit all areas around both West & South Wales, we visited somewhere different each day and there are still loads of places still to see, we would definitely recommend a stay here. Alun & Rebecca don’t live on site but are easily contactable by telephone if you need anything. There aren’t many local shops but the Gulf petrol station towards St Davids has a Spar with large carpark to the rear, it has a good selection and fresh bakery bread (3miles approximately). We would definitely stay here again!!

Excellent site

Quiet, clean and the best facilities you will ever see. Good communication, brilliant little gated field for dog walks. Lovely views, spacious plot with a bench. Well situated for St David’s.
