A peaceful haven for a couple of very hot nights

I Stayed here on the nights of the 18th and 19th July when the temperatures reached over 40 in my motorhome. There is a bit of an unyielding road up from the B2028 but I may have felt it worse because my van is quite light at the back and tends to spring over bumps! The site directions are spot on and Ann Knowles was very welcoming and told me where everything was. The site has basic services of water, sewage disposal and a clean toilet and once in the field you are free to park where you like. It is a fairly large field with plenty of room but does have a slop with flattish areas both at the bottom and the top. I used my ramps with no problem. I have a well behaved dog who was welcomed and, as there was only one other part-time camper, she was free to roam. I did pick up after her and the site was clean of others too. The joy about this campsite at this particular time was the line of very tall oak trees to the south of the site. I was able to park along side these and take cover under their shade. There are many footpaths leading from and around the site and, although I didn't because of the heat, it would be easily possible to walk to Ardingly Reservoir. I chose to walk in the local woodland at 5am! There are plenty of supermarkets and pubs around within easy access. In all a really peaceful site, situated and presented very well indeed. Thank you Ann. Sue & Tenby
