Brockmill Farm reviews are somewhat misleading. I read the reviews, looked on google earth and spotted the East Coast main line ran close by and was ready for some noise intrusion. However l was not prepared for the total lack of view, atmosphere and traffic that runs past the pitches. Or the noise. The site is approached via a long dusty potholed track, roughly three quarters of a mile. Drive past the farmhouse leads into the site which is very small by normal CL standards, all hard standings but-unkempt. One tap a toilet disposal and a toilet. It is surrounded by tall hedges so no view there. The track continues past the vans to the house behind and the fields. Monster tractors go by several times a day. Some of the buildings have collapsed and been left. All in all not good. The view from the van was of a solid barn front. Now for the noise. The East Coast main line runs along side the farm roughly 300 meters away. Trains run every fifteen minutes or so at speeds up to 115 to 125. Those coming from the north sound their air horns on approach, those from the south when they pass the farm. There is a set of points just to the north and the trains make a real noise going each way. Trains run from about 5.30am to about 11pm. That said the site is ideal for visits to Lindesfarne, roughly 4 miles away and other local attractions at Etal, Heatherslaw and various castles. Berwick on tweed is fascinating with its walls and fortifications. We never saw the owner. Several members left after one night echoing my comments about noise etc and in one case having paid for four nights. At times there were 6 units. Not at all impressed. The listing shows a cost of £13 a night, we paid £14, not a problem. The listing says four night minimum July August.
