Would definitly recommend
We were met on arrival by the owner, Ian Copplestone, who introduced himself, the site facilities (WC, shower, dog walk) and the surrounding area. He also provided an information sheet on the recycling arrangements and the essential services – doctors, dentist, vets, bottled gas, pubs and take- aways. The field is slightly sloping and levelling ramps, or devices, may be required (depends how fussy you are). The soil is very fine and sets like concrete so either steel pegs or lots of watering may be required in drought conditions. The field has EHUs on three sides and is also surrounded on three sides by horse paddocks. In my opinion the best pitch is the top of the field with front of van facing east or south. There is also a large picnic table available for alfresco dining. TV reception is from Tacolneston due south (point aerial down the drive) The facilities (WC, shower, sink) are housed adjacent to the holiday cottages and are ‘home-from-home’ standard. There is also a small rack of tourist information leaflets.
The site is quiet and is within easy reach of Norwich and Airport (which also has park and ride into city centre). If, like us, you enjoy walking there is a circular walk almost on the doorstep. (See http://www.countrysideaccess.norfolk.gov.uk/walk.aspx?id=64) Missing from the information leaflet are the postcodes for the Chinese take-away and Oceans chip shop (NR8 6LE). A Tesco Express is also located on the opposite side of Fakenham Road.
Summary - good site for touring central Norfolk and the coast, friendly owner, and quiet. Would definitely recommend.
