Just perfect!

My wife and I stopped here back in early September, initially for 2 nights, but Breck Farm proved such a perfect place that we ended up extending to a full week! There were only our smallish motorhome and a small caravan on the site, so it was very peaceful and quiet. The owners, Jo and Ian, are a really nice couple, and nothing was too much trouble for them. We enjoyed wonderful sunrises and sunsets, as well as free entertainment from the horses in the adjacent paddocks. We enjoyed the circular walk nearby and rode our mountain bikes into the heart of Norwich virtually free of traffic along the Marriott's Way (disused railway) close to the site. Facilities include Hook-ups, waste water disposal, and free water; although there is only the one (superb) combined shower/toilet/washroom, I believe it would be adequate even in the high season. We never had to wait or queue. There are no washing facilities for clothes, but this is a minor problem. I refer you to the excellent review by GoldieK9 below, which seems to sum everything up perfectly.  I can't wait to return to this site - this is how all CLs should be!!

Breck Farm

We were pleasantly surprised at the beauty and spaciousness of this site. Ideally situated, clean toilet and shower. A bargain! We were greeted by the sight of a green woodpecker and later on sparrowhawk. The town of Norwich has plenty to offer. Tesco and Asda nearby. National Trust properties within 20 miles. Ours was only a short stay of 4 days but we really needed longer to see all the places of interest. Certainly to be highly recommended.

Would definitly recommend

We were met on arrival by the owner, Ian Copplestone, who introduced himself, the site facilities (WC, shower, dog walk) and the surrounding area. He also provided an information sheet on the recycling arrangements and the essential services – doctors, dentist, vets, bottled gas, pubs and take- aways. The field is slightly sloping and levelling ramps, or devices, may be required (depends how fussy you are). The soil is very fine and sets like concrete so either steel pegs or lots of watering may be required in drought conditions. The field has EHUs on three sides and is also surrounded on three sides by horse paddocks. In my opinion the best pitch is the top of the field with front of van facing east or south. There is also a large picnic table available for alfresco dining. TV reception is from Tacolneston due south (point aerial down the drive) The facilities (WC, shower, sink) are housed adjacent to the holiday cottages and are ‘home-from-home’ standard. There is also a small rack of tourist information leaflets. The site is quiet and is within easy reach of Norwich and Airport (which also has park and ride into city centre). If, like us, you enjoy walking there is a circular walk almost on the doorstep. (See http://www.countrysideaccess.norfolk.gov.uk/walk.aspx?id=64) Missing from the information leaflet are the postcodes for the Chinese take-away and Oceans chip shop (NR8 6LE). A Tesco Express is also located on the opposite side of Fakenham Road. Summary - good site for touring central Norfolk and the coast, friendly owner, and quiet. Would definitely recommend.

Country Connections

This is a lovely place to stay, wide open skies and beautiful views across the fields, not to mention the horses to round it off. Very neat and well organised. Obviously well thought out. Hosts were extremely pleasant and helpful. Lots of country roads to travel and many places to stop and walk around. Shops, pubs, restaurants etc near by and for the technically minded...mobile 'phone signals and WiFi connection is excellant. Had a very pleasant stay and can highly recommend it to fellow travellers
