First CL experience, will be hard to beat!

We just too delivery of our first ever Caravan, and neither myself or my wife have been Caravanning before. I have only ever towed on the towing course, and that was with a tiony caravan. The entrance to the CL is tight, we have a long car and 8m caravan but by taking it slow, I managed it first time. We were the only ones on site, which for our first experience was probably the best we could have hoped for, no-one watching me make mistakes! It was made so much easier by having a flat level wide hardstanding pitch, ok so I had a motor mover and E&P, but every little helps! The pitches having everything there is ideal. Water, drain, bins, EHU. I'm not sure whether I put the caravan in the wrong way round or if EHU is usually on the awning side of the pitch, time and experience will tell! I used the toilet facilities which were always immaculately clean, warm (enough!). The shower looked the same although I didn't use it. The Elson point is just outside the toilet, it was clean and for my first use, not as scarey as I was expecting! It's location on Anglesey is great, it's about a 5min drive from Newborough forest. If you have dogs, this is te best place in the world! It's huge, has more tracks and trails than you could shake a stick at, and is bordered by 2 long large sandy beaches. My dogs thought they were in heaven! There is a village just up the road with a very well stocked local shop. We followed the (caravan) TomTom in to the site, which I didn not want to return on, as the road is a too narrow 2 lane country road. I managed it only by the courtesy of oncoming traffic. The literature supplied suggested an alternate route, which I took, but it is a much longer way round, better for peave of mind though. Eric and Sue were lovely. Sue come over to say hello whilst I was showering the sand and salt water of my boys and Eric came over a couple of times. I had small self infliucted leak issue when I arrives, which Eric helped me with and pointed me in the direction of a parts shop. He also came over later to check it was working. The electric metering on site is one to be aware of. I know electicity prices are rocketing and sites need to make sure they are not out of pocket. Bear in mind there were only the 2 of us, the temperature hadn't reached the depths it has this last week and so with just heating and TV use, we were £12 over in 2 nights. You'll need to budget appropriately. We will definitely be back, hopefully in the summer months when the site is in full bloom. Thanks Eric and Sue!
