A gem of a site

There are no far-reaching views from this site (which is what we normally go for) but the utter peace and tranquility of the place more than make up for that (absolutely no traffic noise apart from the occasional passing tractor). The hardstanding pitches are spacious and private, being thickly screened from neighbouring pitches with small trees (we hung bird feeders on ours and had lots of visitors). My only slight niggle was that our pitch (4) wasn’t very sunny compared to the others, but as the weather was in the high 20s we didn’t mind at all! Each pitch has EHU, 2 water taps, a waste water drain-away and even its own set of neatly labelled bins. Wow! The shower and loo were lovely and the site as a whole was very tidy. There are some lovely ponds to stroll around with neatly mown paths between them. Eric gave us a warm welcome and some good tips on where to go to see choughs and red squirrels (both seen in abundance - thank you Eric!). The stunning Newborough Forest and beach are just a short drive away. We took Eric’s advice and went in the evening and almost had the place to ourselves! There is a transport museum with cafe opposite the site but we didn’t have time to visit - maybe next time. We would definitely return to this site - we loved it. There is a reason why it gets booked up so quickly, so make sure you book well ahead to avoid disappointment!
