Great find

We've just spent a long weekend at this lovely CL and will certainly be back.  OK, the Fens may not be as scenic as the Lake District or somewhere like that, but you get some huge big skies which have a beauty all of their own.  The site is very easily accessed off the A17, with plenty of room for our two large outfits.  It's a lovely peaceful site, even with the pub next door, with very little traffic noise.  The locals are some of the most welcoming we've come across, and the atmosphere in the pub, and the delicious food are not to be missed. Spalding, only five miles away, has plenty of places to shop or visit and there are some great little shops in Holbeach too, as well as a Tesco if you need any supplies.  We didn't make it to Long Sutton, but were told by one of the locals that there is a very special church spire there which is worth a visit, and the coast where Peter Scott lived in a lighthouse for some years isn't very far away. The shower and toilet on site is very clean and very welcome - especially on the day you are leaving. Don't take much food with you though, as you're bound to enjoy a meal or two in the pub - which even comes with £5 off the cost of the pitch each night you eat there!  It's all very relaxed - just set up a tab and pay the night before you leave.  One tip though - take some insect repellent with you - we found a lot of midges even in March, but not enough to put us off another visit in the very near future!

A CL with great hosts, great food and great Beer, Does it get any better?

A great site, and well located. the camping field is set away from the pub, so if you do want a quiet night that is no problem either. We stayed for two nights on our way back from Cumbria, and were very impressed by the welcome, the food and the beer! We will be back, thanks very much John.

Great C.L, great hosts.

This C.L improves every time we visit. This year the owners have planted many shrubs and plants and the site looks great. A shed has been added containing info packs, loan DVDs, books, mags EVERYTHING. Go into the pub to eat - the food is excellent.  There is a security code for the access to the shower/toilet room that you may use whilst staying on site. In short, you won't find much better than this site for amenities.  Payment to John in the pub.

Delightfully friendly and relaxed

This is a lovely CL site; very welcoming, tranquil, easy access and a friendly pub serving great food. John was there to welcome us, but if he isn't around there's a handy little welcome pack on the gate and it is genuinely a 'welcome' pack and not a rule book. There is a great chilled atmosphere about this site which I'm sure is achieved through a lot of hard work and attention to detail. Free wifi and a spotlessly clean shower room were a delight. The locals in the pub were very friendly, good selection of beers and the food was freshly cooked and totally delicious.
