Wonderful site

We stayed here as our first site in Scotland and couldn't have picked a better site, owners were very helpful, thumper the dog was extremely friendly too. Fresh eggs were given to us free of charge and nothing was too much trouble. Watching the ducks on the pond, the horses in the field, the chickens running around was just lovely. The site is well looked after and obviously loved by the owner which is reflected in the general upkeep and the thousands of beautiful daffodils out at the time of our visit. Thoroughly recommend this quiet, rural, peaceful site.

Blowplain Fm, Away from it all!

This all grass CL is situated behind the farmhouse with a view over a duck pond. It is reached by a short tarmac drive from a narrow lane about a mile from the A712, Crocketford to New Galloway road. It has a good information room, toilet and a shower, and very friendly owners. TV, phone and wifi reception is good. Being that far from a main road it's very peaceful and has dark skies at night, great for stargazing. The local lanes are very quiet and a good 5ml walk can be made from the site with little or no traffic. The nearest shop is at New Galloway but one has to travel to Castle Douglas for a supermarket. Plenty of places to visit in the area, with offroad cycling tracks in the forest. A great site for getting away from it all.

Beautiful location, warm welcome, highly recommended.

We stayed here for 1 night on 23/04/16. What a hidden gem of a CL! Beautiful countryside, lovely views direct from our van windows with easy road access and  spotlessly clean facilities. Mary and Bill are truly generous, warm folk who go out of their way to make you feel welcome and made us a present of daffodils when we arrived and eggs when we left. We will definitely visit again and would heartily recommend this location to club members

Peace and Tranquility

Beautiful site in a beautiful area. This was our 6th visit to Blowplain. Mary and Bill the site owners make you feel like its home from home. good facilities. Spacious pitches. Very quiet, good area for cycling and walking, fantastic views. A family of barn owls that were nesting in one of the barns flew the nest while we were there beautiful to watch them flying every evening, Already planning our visit for 2015.
