This has to be one of the best locations in the whole of the Peak District. We were lucky enough to be able to move onto the lower end pitch. From here the views for 270’ were absolutely amazing, possibly the best I have had anywhere in the UK in nearly 40 years of doing campsites. Easy access to the Monsal trail, perfect for cycling to Bakewell. There is a nasty hill from the trail back to the site if you are cycling that bit, but no problem with our power assisted bikes. A lovely walking round of Chee Dale passes within metres of the site taking you through some spectacular gorges and scenery. We enjoyed our first ever visit to Chatsworth house before we arrived which was not far to travel afterwards. All in all a wonderful 4 nights, I would definitely hope to return one day.
