Ease of arrival/welcome

Beautiful CL....but!!

This CL is in a stunning location. Hard standings, beautiful views, and easy access to walking & cycling trails. Just a 15 minute drive into either Buxton or Tideswell. Very peaceful and quiet. I marked 'ease of arrival/welcome' down, because when I arrived at lunchtime, having booked in advance, there were already 6 vans on the site. There was no-one at the house, the phone number rang through to a full voicemail box, so it was impossible to leave a message, and had I driven a long distance, or had it been late in the evening, or raining, I would have been really cheesed off. Fortunately two of the other members on site (who turned out to be regulars there) took pity on me, and came over to explain that 'over-selling' this CL wasn't unusual, and that there were in fact 7 EHUs, so I sited my van on the grass, hooked up, and all was well. So yes, it is a lovely CL, but just be prepared!!

Stunning views

Lovely site with hard standing and EHU. Beautiful views across the peaks with many walks around you. Great access to the Monsal trail and easy drive to Buxton, Bakewell and Chatsworth. Peaceful and tranquil as long as you like sheep. It's the lambing season and the adjacent fields were occupied by the latest arrivals and their mothers. Stayed here for seven nights and look forward to returning.
