Stayed on this site for 6 nights over the New Year. We had a choice of hardstanding pitches all with good access. Great views over the hills of the Peak District. Lots of walks direct from the site. Convenient for shops in Buxton or Bakewell.
Splendid site
This site is easy to find with the narrow lane having mowed sides and passing places. There is a choice of 7 gravel hard standings. Although our stay was mainly wet the site was never muddy. The grass was mown closely. Other reviews have mentioned the views which are stunning. The site is sheltered from the north by woodland. we stayed for 7 nights but we had difficulty finding the owner both when we arrived and when we wanted to pay. It would have been nice had they visited the site occasionally. Otherwise, a great place to stay.

Fantastic place to spend New Years Eve
We stayed at this CL on New Years Eve.
We found it easily enough, no problem with access.
The views are STUNNING and we watched a beautiful sunset from our motorhome. We also enjoyed all the fireworks at midnight !!!!
Lots of walking nearby.
We would return.
Great View!
A great spot with views to die for! Hard standing pitches were fine even after wet weather - compacted gravel that is perfectly good for any outfit (greening over yes, but actually looks less obtrusive and functions just the same!) levelling blocks useful as some slope slightly. Grass during our visit was very short (not growing season) and no mud to speak of. Ample power points and other facilities all fine. Access from man roads is good. Great walking direct from site down into Chee Dale/Monsal Trail, or just enjoy the views! Bus stop nearby. Owners friendly and helpful. Will definitely return.
Great location but needs TLC
We were looking for a base to do the Monsall Trail and some walking, and this site is perfect. Good views, and access is good. However the site needs some TLC. The aged owners don't seem to do much. All pitches are smallish hardcore patches, and the grass could be cut more often. The areas around the water and waste disposal could do with some slabs and soak-aways as they get a bit muddy after rain. Useful nearby commercial site with shop.
Great location
We stayed at this site for a week in July 2014. I can confirm that the grass situation was the same as other reviewers experienced. It had been cut but was still long and it was impossible to keep the cuttings out of the caravan. A pity because with a bit more attention this could be a cracking site. On arrival you are instructed to call at the house and that was the only time we saw any one during the week. There is plenty to do locally and some top quality walks from the site. The views are extensive.

great views
Stayed May 2014. Individual hard pitches required a bit of fiddling to level the van but did ensure everyone got the great view. good walks and places to visit nearby. Cut grass a bit long and messy when it rained was our only gripe .. but this did not detract from an overall good experience. Visit this site and you will be pleased.

Peaceful Quiet Site
This site has hard standings, beautiful views, situated between Buxton and Bakewell, good place to explore the area, plenty of places to visit. Bakewell has an excellent Market on a Monday.
On our visit the grass was long during the week the grass was cut leaving wet cuttings, making it difficult to keep the inside of van clean. overall I would recommend this site, and will defiantly visit again.

Super Views
Stayed a week here super views and location for walking and sightseeing. Would recommend and return.
Great View
Just spent seven nights here and really enjoyed it, you are based on a site over looking the local area with really great views, other sites around this area can be in a valley with restricted views. Great place to stay and for travelling around this very nice part of the country. You do get used to the sheep !
