Lovely Peaceful Site

Spent a lovely week at Benn Park. Lots of walks from the site to access the coastal path and the local bus stops outside the golf club if you don't want to walk back from Newquay. Thanks to Jack and Louise for their hospitality. We loved it here.

A Total disappointment.

We booked our main 2024Touring holiday December 2023 and was looking forward to our stay at benn park the pictures on the Club site looked brilliant ……. We was told before our arrival where our two units (Ours and our Besties) pitches was opposite each other we arrived one pitch looked directly in to the site owners kitchen window and the other pitch was on a large plot right next to the bins, toilet(which was incidentally filthy) and the elsan empty point we called the owner and spoke to a female who was in the kitchen window looking at us not at any point did she come out to us she told us yes they was out pitch’s , anyway we thought we could live with it we started to set up leveled water etc etc then we then came to put the awning up our friends was in front of the bungalow We was next to bins for some reason I put the awning skirt on first glad I did tried to peg it down got the peg through the 1” gravel only to be confronted with a slab of concrete I checked the whole area which was the same a massive concrete slab , our friends rang the owner again this time spoke to a very rude gentleman again not coming out to see us , we was told no one else has problems put the awning on the strip of grass ……… if we’d done as he suggested we would have broken every rule in the book on how far units have to be apart as the next door caravan was on the edge of the grass , still not a sign of the site owners , as said this was our main holiday and not a good start at all …….our advice is this …… If your looking for a site in someone’s front garden directly on the drive and next to the bins and a site where the owners only welcome is over the phone and a site with a filthy toilet then this is the CL for you . If however you want a caravan pitch with great views , a pitch for your caravan awning and car , a site where a warm welcome awaits you ?? Then our advice is a avoid avoid Benn Park and look elsewhere in the area. If I had to rate this site with a star rating It would have to be a one star . Benn Park you really need to up your game within the hospitality business !!!

We loved this site

We loved this site, and not just because we were the only ones there! The site was immaculate with well spaced pitches and was really peaceful. There is a bus stop less than 10 mins walk from the site with buses running to Newquay and Wadebridge and connecting buses onwards. There also a toilet on the site which is always a bonus! The owner was not at home when we arrived but we did not find this a problem, we just picked a pitch and set up. We found the owner later who was very friendly. This site absolutely met our needs for our 4 night stay and would stay again if we are visiting the area.

One of the best!

One of the best CL sites we've visited in a very long time. The site was kept immaculate. We had a very nice welcoming by Jack. He was very laid back and helpful. We'll definitely be back again without a doubt. Thank you for a great time. Kind regards Tony, Sam and Rhys.

Not quiet

We arrived early evening and it was difficult to locate the owner. The site is adequate with all the usual facilities for a cl site. A car and a motorbike entered the site and drove to an adjacent barn. From 7.45pm music was being played from this barn which was only about 60 yards from us. I realized that it was a rehearsal facility for a rock band. This was very loud and continued till 10.40pm. Even having our tv volume high didn't drown out the noise. If you advertise a quiet and peaceful site then thats what it should be. Perhaps this was a one off but spoiled our stay. The owner should have told us.

Close to Newquay

Nice and helpful people and a well kept site. The toilet is as normal on a cl and now has a new seat. Biggest problem is the entrance/exit, in my opinion (which this report is) it needs widening by three or four feet because of the narrow road outside. I understand several people have actually hit the gatepost causing severe damage to thier vans. I used my mover to drive our van onto the road/grass outside the site and couplled up there, thereby removing the problem for me.

One of our favourites

The entrance is a bit tight if you have a long outfit, but the CL has everything we need (somewhere to park, somewhere to fill and empty both water tanks and the loo) The owners are lovely people, who are most welcoming

Functional site

A quiet, modest, 0.25 acre, site, 3/5 grass/ 2/5 hard. Unfortunately the grass was waterlogged so not useable when we visited. Glimpses of views. Satisfying walks from the site - we walked to Newquay. The toilet would be fine, if rural, if only it had loo roll and soap, had been cleaned and didn't have a broken seat.

One of the best CLs on the network

Well we have been at the cl for 7 nights and are leaving in the morning for Somerset. All I can say is WOW what a place to stay. We got a nice friendly welcome when we arrived from the owners and only tonight had a visit from the owner to wish us a safe journey back home. This site is kept to a very high standard with all the grass cutting collected when cut so is very neat and tidy. The site itself has 4grass pitches and 1hard standing which are all on the level. The entrance in to the site is a little tight but isn't a problem if you are careful but we do have quite a long outfit. The toilet is not a modern one but does what it's meant for and we didn't find it bad like the last reviewer . We have stayed on many many CLs and must say this is one of the better ones in a fantastic quiet location and should not be dismissed with the other reviews. We will be back .
